Oddly enough, that's the same time and fee for BRD 1-75.
50 days and 16 hours... If they could be a little more specific on the estimated time, I might do it.
Laughable timeframe, cost, and gil investment (for applicable items). Overall Izzy's thing is a better deal.
And with respect to Gunbound.....it's the only game I've ever played that's less mature than Runescape. I've never met a playerbase that was so fucking stupid, both in game and in chat. I ended up quitting within 2 days or so.

They mean 10,000 Limit points...
Someone buy that service, then when they only get you 1 merit point, sue the fuckers.
Only takes 3 weeks to get bard from 40-75 , 67-75 shouldnt be long.Originally Posted by Septimus
Two months is a lot... two months of grinding out exp on BLM, WHM, and BRD (or any jobs, really) will make a zombie of anyone. And let's say one accomplishes this by playing for four hours a day, 20 days each month (less than most hardcore end gamers). That's 160 hours total, which, if spent working a job at a minimum wage of say $7/hr, would earn $1120, enough for two or three accounts from IGE with characters having jobs in the upper 60s.Originally Posted by Septimus
Different parts of the game are fun for different people. Some people take great pride in putting countless hours into achieving their own accomplishments; some would rather pay the Chinese to do it. One could even argue that buyers are simply keeping "work" as "work", using money from their career to skip to the fun parts of a MMORPG they wish to enjoy during their time off. Obviously the RMT salvage runs are ridiculous, but RMT as a whole makes sense, especially trading between regular players (selling accounts or items directly).
If I told you the sky was blue, would you be one of those people that would argue with me that the color is more of a light blue or baby blue?Originally Posted by Potentate

This game is time-intensive, it takes time to accomplish anything of importance. People who use "money from their career to skip to the fun parts of a MMORPG" are useless leaches and rarely ever learn how to play their jobs correctly.Originally Posted by Potentate
Just because you have no concept of the value of money that you are willing to throw it away for video game accomplishments does not mean that it makes sense for people who were taught not to fritter away what they earn. If you don't feel like playing the game that you play, go here and download it. It's even better than RMT because it is free- just sit back and watch everything happen for you.
Progress Quest is the best game I've ever not played
I see your Progess Quest and raise you This.
Says who (though I agree bought accounts usually suck at their jobs)? Why does it have to be a career instead of a good time? I wasn't saying RMT is right, just that it makes sense. It was in response to the type of generalizations people make like "why would someone ever use real money on a game blah blah." It makes sense - mostly in the situation that the guy brought up about giving his account to his brother - not to start over and redo things when you can buy it.Originally Posted by Septimus

And RMT does not make sense no matter how you look at it unless money has no value to you. Games come with rules- you can only run at a certain speed, you can only make money in certain ways, you can only claim monsters at a certain time. People don't get to break the rules because they they don't feel like obeying them. People love to use the "I don't have time to farm, I just want to play" excuse for buying gil. Exactly what makes one person's time so valuable that they can disregard the ToS? Maybe those people who don't have time to properly play the game shouldn't play it at all? I mean, someone who doesn't have the time to farm up gil to get shiny armor for their jobs that they never played on a character that they bought also doesn't have the time to bother to learn how to play those jobs.
In the end, they are a bunch of self-important people who believe that they are so much more special that everyone else. Over-grown brats who think that the world should be handed to them simply because they want it and fear actual effort.
This would be the correct answer.Originally Posted by Dakana

I agree, RMT is fundamentally wrong, and a lot of it births unskilled players. But it makes sense because there are virtually no repercussions to fear when buying gil or accounts. If a high percentage of gilbuyers were banned for it, it would make a lot less sense to risk your character doing it.Originally Posted by Septimus
Depends on your perspective. On a game like FFXI, that wasn't designed for RMT and where the ToS itself prohibits RMT, yeah, RMT is retarded. There's no valid justification for you to have RMT in that situation, especially when it's hurting the players in the game. But I think you're going too far when you say that the concept of RMT in a game doesn't make sense, at least from a game design point of view.
There's plenty of games right now that are successful and were designed to actually use RMT as a part of the game. We don't see them a lot here because it's mostly an Asian thing (the market is completly different there, but that's a long story that has a lot to do with adapting to widespread piracy), but they do exist and they do actually work. It doesn't really work on FFXI because it was designed so there would be no place for it, but if you look at the games where there is a place for it, I think you'll find out why it does in some cases make sense
I doubt you were thinking outside FFXI or at least regular western MMORPGs when you said that, but I'd figured I'd make the point anyway
