It's not really a "blockbuster" game like GTA, Halo, and WoW which typically have huge release parties... The only SE title that you can semi-expect to have a midnight release will be FF13.

Going to an earlier area in the game (An area you visited on disc 1) while on a later disc will mean it'll prompt you to insert disc 1 to go to that area. I've seen a few games do this. Frustrating, but it's a way to keep the game at 2-3 discs as opposed to 5-6.

I picked up The Last Hope this afternoon, I'm about 4 hours in. I installed the game to my hard drive and haven't had any slow down, which is something I was sort of worried about. I'm enjoying it so far though. Some things people may be interested in.

Bonus Gauge from Till the End of Time is now a Bonus Board. It has 14 spaces on it that can all be filled with 4 different types of bonuses. The bonuses are easier to get, and getting more isn't based off number of battles, but just actually completing what's necessary for the bonus. The Board breaks the same way the Gauge did, (via critical hit, or death of the controlled character) but if you have several of the same bonus on the board touching each other, when the board breaks your will only lose half of your bonuses. No time limits on the board either, like the gauge had.

Battle Trophies are back, but each character has individual trophies this time. 100 trophies for each character so far it seems. Computer characters can't complete the trophies for you.

It'd take too long to explain a lot of the new stuff, and people probably want to experience it for themselves. I can answer some questions though. Fans should love the game though. Hopefully it wont disappoint.

I have a 60GB HDD. The first disc was 5.8GB to install.

If I had to guess I would say you still need to swap discs. I couldn't play without the disc in the system, and it's specifically marked "Disc 1" in my library. I wouldn't know for sure though as I'm not far enough.

even so i dont see swapping back to disk one though you have disk 3 installed. Being that big of a deal. Sure installing helps but if your just going back for something small or some things here and there i hope it wouldn't kill things.

And also i was thinking of upgrading my HDD i only have a 20 and heck 10gigs feels like system stuff and the rest are my games which i have hardly anything downloaded. is the 60 going be enough or should i just jump to the 120 and watch a deal on it?

12 hours in and I'm really really really getting sick of everything attacking Reimi for no apparent reason, and the mobs just hiding behind every. fucking. corner. despite being like 10-15 levels overleveled (i think) stuff is still a pain in the ass.
Oh well, still fun.

I'm being told by a friend that's got it (picked it up yesterday, he's in Cali) that the battle system was fixed and isn't shitty anymore.

I don't remember when it was shitty, so this is either a huge step up or your friend just doesn't know what's what.
