Star Ocean 1 & 2 Remake/Port for PSP AND future SO4

When I got to the first end-game dungeon, none of my characters were higher than 55, and only Edge, Reimi, Arumat, Sarah were between 50-55. Beat game, got Dragon Roar and Savage Sparrow, and those 2000+ damage claws for Meracle.

Got like 10-15 levels quickly just spamming Dragon Roar, popped over to Reimi and filled my Bonus Board with XP+ from Rush+Crimson Squall abuse for free crits as well as have characters with +XP% synthed to their stuff, then back to Savage Sparrow spam. Took me about two play session to go from 50-120~125, basically the climb up to Gabriel + and between 1-2hrs of random grinding while i was watching some TV.

Yeah, I suppose the last time I tried was pre-dragon roar/savage sparrows, of course I still have a bunch of shitty weapons that I need to synth some better things onto but meh, just sarah kept getting gangraped by those stupid bats with their weird blind/aoe attack, haven't gone back in a while.

I had that freezing issue too, switched my resolution to 720p and I haven't run into it since

wait is that all it is? I didn't hear anything about it though i gues i havn't looked around either. For a bit though after every few fights the game would freeze right before the Xp popped up on the screen. Made me so mad when just randomly griding.

Installed all 3 disks to the HD as soon as I got the game and have 185 hours logged and haven't froze once. o_O

My dad and I have been sharing a copy. Mine never froze, his freezes all the time. Even switching to 720p. It's definately dependant on the setup. I'll have to check to see what version chipset he has in his, but both of our 360's are less than 6 months old.

Your 360 may be getting close to RROD if it's freezing up constantly it's what mine did before it RROD on me.

Alright about the story now. After reading wikia and wikipedia the mindfuck that 3 gave us means SO1 and 2 never happened or did they? Or is 3's story just the mindfuck from them being in a game world. The whole "You're just data this world isn't real now it's time to delete you!" thing was a twist but I think they just copied their existence into the game and the real world is alright.

SO3 takes place after every other game. So, in comparison to SO4, I'm pretty sure Fayt hadn't even been born yet which would mean that they are probably being monitored as a species by Luther and them but they have absolutely no plans to erase the data yet.

Finally got to the Lord of Dragons. He's a tad annoying. The random immunes can really blow your chain since he one-shots you with his jump.

The answer to this, and everything else in this game: Reimi + max crit + max focus + max berserk + either max stun or max attack bonus + weapon with +critical on it.

Everything dies. Everything.

Just got to a boss that my friend told me took him a good half hour when he thought he was overleveled. Took 4 and a half minutes. Reimi = hax. Use her for all your arena needs. Cleared through to rank 1 with her at level 71.

I'll have to try that. I've had very little issue with Meracle and my abilities listed earlier, just stupid mistakes on my part. I have focus and crit on her, but at the moment, her attack power is quite a bit lower than Meracle even without the attack bonus ability on Meracle. Speaking of which, do you find other attack, stun, or berserk books? That or I just don't remember where to buy them.

The universe they lived in was real, even if it was artificial. At the end, they simply break the tie between 4D universe and their own, after restoring what was deleted. What happened before still happened.



At least, that's how I understand the ending.

I believe you can only get one in the bottom level of the hidden dungeon and you have to use Arumat's ability to dupe them.

Stun actually can't be used by Reimi, my bad. I use ATT+ just remembered thinking her with stun would be broken. Berserk you can buy on EN II I think.

The big difference between Reimi and everyone else is distance. In arena mode just set 3x static thorn to each trigger and you get a 4-5 hit WS criting 80% of the time with knockback on each hit + you have the range of the entire arena with static thorn. Spam thorn -> knockback enemy across zone -> rage it -> run around -> repeat.

For bosses (I just fought the boss on EN II and got my deal 30k dmg trophy with her using crimson squall) you can set static thorn -> 2x crimson squall on each trigger and go through for a nice 40ish hit combo. Once you get the 240% damage bonus the crits do 6000 damage-ish each before berserk and crimson squall is like 10-12 hit so....

And remember this is all from a distance...lol

Also for weapon on her I have Spirit Bow Darkstriker with increased crit and ATK +7% synthed on so she has 1808 ATK just for reference.

True, but it's hard to turn down Meracle's damage. I usually can keep the enemy in the air once I start my combo (or stun-locked, but not stars-stunned) and close it off with a 99,999 Comet Punch. So devastating.

But primarily for arena Reimi is gonna be the way to go. I started clearing through at level 50 and was 70ish when I was done. Some fights took 30+ minutes but that's just how broken she is lol. 100% out of aoe range at all time and can interrupt casting at a distance.

I had 10/10 hp boost on her til around level 65 though btw. Had about 25k HP kinda helped XD

There's that one in the 7 star caves and they also drop from Jade Golems (I think floors 6+) in the Wandering Dungeon really really frequently. Grind them for like 30-45min and you'll end up with 20, and even if you end up with like 15 just dupe another 5 lol.
Philosopher's stones are the real pains in the asses though ._.;
At least they let people get a moonstone sword for Gabriel I guess, lul.

No fight really ever took me more than 5 minutes, and all fights up to rank 3 (Fuck that bird) I could complete with 1 combo, literally just one combo. Though I agree Reimi is definitely a safe bet to not lose.

Also, it's just as I thought since I did beat Lord of Dragons last night... He's 15% immune to physical attacks and his gauge builds FAST so you can only do a half combo and he's at 50%. Run away until he lands, recast Focus and Berserk, get him to jump and be ready to wail away when he lands. And the item you get from solo champion is fucking incredible. I can't remember all, but it's like 10% attack boost, immune to 15% of physical attacks, and more.

Working on solo now, but I don't have anyone with 50%+ BTs... My main 4 are in their upper 30's lower 40's though except Meracle who is at 48.
