Should be easy, do they spawn after the 15 nms are killed or are they already spawned when you enter and just drop fragment after the NMs are killed?

They're already spawned when you enter the zone, however, they do not spawn satellites and do not drop anything until after all 15 NMs are killed.
they're already spawned as bland, boring looking models that don't talk, don't spawn satellites, and hardly fight back. the downside, is that they don't drop fragments when they die. upon the death of the 15 NMs and the release of the "prison of souls," the boring weapons depop and are all replaced by their relic model counterparts at full strength. only these can drop the fragments. you can see the already popped, but boring dagger relatively easily on a normal run before the 15 are defeated if you're interested.
I was just trying to figure out if we could clear an area around a weapon then spawn it, but it seems that isn't an option. Thanks for the replys.
most weapons live in a nice, clean little area, with the exception of the horn iirc, but any animated can have the nearby adds stripped w/o problem. which weapon are you looking at?Originally Posted by AzazaelFenrir
I briefly glanced at the wiki map for GKT. I assume he is up on the upper ledge where nothing should link, but incase he wasn't I wanted a backup plan.
What would happen if you got a "boring" weapon down to say 10%, and just held it untill you killed the last NM? >.> Would it just depop and respawn with a relic model counterpart?Originally Posted by Spekkio
Doubtfull it would alter a mob thats already fighting. If so I would assume it would restore full hp since it seems to dramatically increase its stats after the release.
i had that exact same thought before. i wondered what would happen if i killed off all but say scox, pinned him at 1% and kited/bound him while we crushed the shield to 5%, then offed scox followed by the crippled shield, but i think i concluded that it wouldn't work. i believe i read that the animateds don't morph to their full potential in place, but depop and repop as their HQ models. i believe i also read that they do not respawn if their lesser model was killed. all of the above information i have provided though is SECOND HAND though. take that into account before you're dissuaded from trying it. if you have the people who want to put out the risk of trying it, by all means go for it! could easily do it with the shield or dagger as they chill right by an NM pedestal.Originally Posted by spooky
i can say first hand that they're silent, boring, pushovers before the 15 NMs have died. learned that when getting the sphari fragment probably a year and a half ago. we had some shocked people when the fragment didn't drop. kinda funny in retrospect.
