Personally, I would have shot a little hole in the window, called 911 immediately, and reported an attempted burglary/shooting.

That wouldn't have worked. Forensics can probably tell how close the gun was fired from her husband's head and the angles and all that shit. They would have eventually proven her wrong.

Normally I would agree with you, but I doubt it would have gotten that far. I don't think the shit they do on CSI is common practice for every case that pops up in the police department, especially considering that there were no casualties or exceedingly serious injuries.
