Gigant Toad was a server load test to see if the servers could withstand multiple PCs engaging a single enemy. Needless to say Gigant Toad was level 80+ and most of the people in beta were 1-60.

Incidentally, on the last day of Beta there were Moogles stationed in the 3 main cities that warped adventurers to HNM sites. Dozens of low-mid level players engaged Capricious Cassie, King Behemoth, Fafnir and Aspid. This was before the HQ kings were added so they used us as guinea pigs...

It wasn't all bad, GMs helped us out, with their Lv.80ness in incredibly powerful gear that wasn't available to players yet (Abjuration gear). After killing these, the GMs dispensed fireworks.

Kiting didn't exist yet. People didn't figure out how to kite until encountering Kirin after RoZ was released. Think he went undefeated for like 2 months.

Speaking of SC Pts nowdays....one of the best ones i had for my RDM so far had RNG WAR NIN BRD RDM BLM, and i think the RNG and WAR did Sidewinder > Rampage and BLM bursted. That PT was fast and nice and it was in TOAU areas OMGZ! like 6 weeks ago. LV 65ish party.

I wish Axeburn hadn't been so popular. I really enjoyed WAR, up until ToA and TPburn became more prevelant. Then the 75 WAR population went from 9, to 90,000 almost overnight. GTFO my job! Those were better days...

Man, Eco-wars were one of the funnest things to do man! back when your lvl 20, seeing that 5k+ xp was hawt! atleast to me when I started playing 3 years ago

Perhaps not in XI, but kiting definitely existed in older MMOs. When I first started up I spoke with a friend who had played EQ and Ragnorok, he asked me if we used kiting at all and I told him no because I was a noob and didn't know what it meant <.<;

Haha those take me back. Incidentially, Lloydst was the first LS leader that ever screwed me over. I think that's the LS I first met Daahan in too.
