ffxi update problem; disconnect after file check

I've been trying to update ff on a brand new install on my laptop, and every time after it finishes the checking and goes into the actual downloading files stage, a network connection error happens and it cancels.

Not sure if it's cause of some router setting but anyone have a similar problem ever?

Windower? I know that whenever I tried to update when I used Windower, FFXI connection would lag out on me.

I had this happen to me yesterday. Got FFXI installed and all the Content ID's set up on my girl's MacBook and we went out to dinner while it did the 17,000 file check and download/update. For some reason, windows dropped her wireless connection even though the router was stable. I just hard-wired it up with some CAT5 and did the download that way and had no problems.
