If you're not American, you need to get the fuck out of the country. Just because you're some immigrant fag that sucks the collective cock of America doesn't give you the right to celebrate the independence that AMERICANS fought for an earned.

We're supposed to be celebrating how great and awesome America is right now. Like Captain America said, this isn't France. Or England. Or Canada. Or whatever wussy country.

Damn straight I'm not American, wouldn't want to be. I'm very happy living in a country with free healthcare and a history. You're welcome to get all precious about your nation, but considering you're built on immigration, for you to lash out at Demo for starting this thread makes you look a cunt.Originally Posted by Beckwin

I like where this thread is going.
I'm on both sides of the story, to be honest. I'm very happy where I live, compared to other places that are still in deep poverty, no technology, etc. I'm pretty grateful for that.
What I'm not grateful for is "Fat Joe American" who comes into my store, talking about the "war" and saying "we should just nuke the bastards, that's what America is about." Needless to say, if I wasn't working, I would have punched him in the balls.
What it all comes down to, though, is the individuals themselves. If you can understand what it means to be American, all the while respecting and remembering (because people tend to forget, or just don't care) that you are here because of the efforts of others, then I salute you.

For the record, I like and respect the majority of Americans I've ever interacted with, it's just your vocal minority of twats shout really fucking loud.
Why is it that when anyone mentions America, people have to fucking come in and shit all over everything? It's like the goddamned Athiests who constantly have to jump down everyone's throat the second that someone uses the word "God," regardless of the context.
Each individual American person is not an extension of the Bush administration, and we don't all deserve to be fucking berated constantly just for living here.

When I see a Howard Zinn quote (a person I think is pretty brilliant and probably cares more about this country than most) responded to with:

I feel compelled to respond. Except this time I decided to do so in a roundabout way. Bottom line is that dissent and responsible citizenship (i.e. keeping yourself informed and not choosing to see everything in red, white, and blue) are a hell of a lot more patriotic than flag-waving.Originally Posted by Demosthenes
