I actually do have fond memories of the Chimpunks, but only because I actually listened to the old records Mom & Dad had, instead of watching the ghastly cartoons from the 80's.

The worst part of this is that none of those CG....things...look anything like The Chimpunks. They seem to think you can just slap the colors and a big 'A' on The Red One's chest and kids will hoot and say 'WOW THEY LOOK SO REAL!'

Since they haven't made any Alvin+chipmonk anything in the past 15 years, it's aimed for adults (since we grew up on that). But we all know this will probably look like shit.

might be a little early, but i'm sure the market is parents that remember the chipmunks and bring their kids. Probably about 5 years too soon for that. Its a family movie which is just about the only successful genre right now, doesn't really need to get much more specific than that. I'm pretty sure this will make money.
