We do orbholder keeps one item, sell/split rest among participants. If a BB item drops, the orbholder decides who gets it.
Almost the same as Lexa's.
orb holder keeps one item, split rest (usually a SH will screen shot who was in and the drops). BB items go to those who have monk main (lotted between those), after to any who have 70+ on monk, unless the orb holder is one of those then no lot.
n/m made a mistake
Similar to others I'm sure, but we have 3 event days a week, and Sunday is the catch-all day. When we do KS99s, we do YOYD but the team gets event points for participating. There are the usual catches too, like no one gives a second orb before the first round of orbs are done, preference goes to those who have attended the most runs without contributing an orb, etc.![]()
When each battle ends, we take a screenshot of the drops and the alliance. The orb holder keeps any 1 item, sells the rest, and sends everyone from their battle a share of the gil from the sold items.
If there is a black belt item and the orb holder does not choose to take it, the LS leaders announce who will be allowed to cast for it. We have gotten so many BBs that nobody cares anyway.
Since we have a points based LS, we give points for coming and helping with the runs. We have members sign up so we know how many are going in advance. BB items are the orb holders choice and all drops are the property of the orb holder to with as they choose.
IMO, if a KS99 run is not your orb your loot, and a bunch of it goes to the LS, then I'm not likely to save up 99 seals. I'd rather do a bunch of KS30's and take my chances over multiple runs. I think the point is to do a fairly easy event to get your members money not pad the LS bank. Hopefully members use that money to better themselves (crafting, new gear, etc) which in the end should benefit your LS anyways.
I have always gone with the idea that your orb your drops is the only way to go.
Any other way just seems greedy by the LS to me, like people have said, everyone gets to use their orb eventually... so why split?
Unless some are freeloaders and expect to get a share of the drops just for showing up and pressing a few buttons when they use all their seals on your orb your drops KS30s.. in which case that is their choice and they shouldn't get part of the KS99 loot anyways.
I was in a weird LS on Odin, which didn't go after money things really, like ouryu or bahamut etc. So what money events we did do, I don't think people would stand for their loot being divided up to people that didn't contribute with an orb, and some people just stood there during fights doing nothing.
One of the few things they did right in my opinion was they let you have what drops on your KS99 orb, I was able to get one of my JP friends that just doesn't have a LS to do HNM or KS99 with a black belt for his monk(then he went and got Gjallarhorn for his brd so I don't know how much help I was <.<), super nice guy too.
I like the fact that I can give the item to him and not be forced to give it to some douche in LS that I really didn't like(there were plenty of those).
And I don't know about some people but just the fight alone(Behemoth on BLM for me) is fun as hell and worth the time.

We had a turtle that gave us Egg, Striders, and D. Ingot, which was a pretty nice pay day.We don't do KS99 Turtle, waste of seals.
Same effort, same number of seals, but one person shafted for less than 100k, one person gets Juggy and gets over 2 mil?your orb your loot is the only fair division system imo
Depends on how you define fair, I guess...
Our shell uses zero-sum DKP, so we do "your orb, your drops" with an added point cost for the win. 95% of the effort for a KS99 is collecting the orbs, not doing the fight.
BTW, that "confiscate speedbelt" rule is absurd. Anyone that gets mad at a "new" person getting a speedbelt this way should probably be kicked from the shell. That level of envy will cause serious issues down the road. I hope you explain the rule in detail to people before they spend their orb, because I'd never waste one of mine under those rules. If you didn't explain it in advance, I'd call a GM.
KS99 is not the same as lotting loot elsewhere. The LS doesn't farm the 99 KS you're spending. Anyone who buys into your rules is an idiot. I wouldn't be stupid enough to join an LS that does their KS99s like that. No orb of mine gets used unless both leader and quartermaster are on me before the trade. Let's be honest...
99% of the time those loot pools are shitty at best, right? Our linkshell has a points based system with an open bank with option to cash points in for gil, so it is sometimes a constant effort to keep the money coming, cause lord knows we have no prblms with it going.
When we do KS99, like someone else said it's never 1. In fact, we just did a KS99 Wyrm run last weekend and I think the total runs came up to 22. That makes for a long evening in and of itself.
Your orb, you get to pick one item from the loot. Unless BB item drops and you want/need that, then you get that and one item from the pool. Speed Belt dorp? Grats, yours. (Although in over 80 KS99 we have never seen a Speed Belt...). The rest goes to the ls bank, which honestly we only end up taking 1 or 2 things from the pool cause there is just no way to sell some of that garbage. The rest just gets free rotted. Everyone attendance gets a set amount of points for attending the run, minus a set amount of points if you had an orb. So in the end, you get the best item from your pool, and essentially you made more gil by your points from linkshell.
It's worked out alright, but then again like I said in the beginning 90% of the times those loot pools suck anyways so even if you let someone pick two things they would be hard pressed to decide which piece of crap to take on there second choice.
Works well for Us~
We used to have it where the person using the orb would pick two items from the pool, or take everything if it came to under 2mil. But now, in around 30 KSNM99 Wyrms, we've averaged maybe 500-800k per orb, so we have moved to a 'your orb, your loot' system. If someone gets lucky with a speed belt, good for them. If someone gets a belt who we didn't feel deserve it or we are not happy for, why was I keeping them in my LS and putting us in that position?
Have any of you guys bothered checking the date? This is a necrobump -.-
holy necropost
We do your orb your drop, except if you get a "Big item" like speed belt/juggy/striders, then what happens is you take the big item and the rest of your orb goes freelot.
And to the person who said "It's unfair for one person to walk away with scraps and the other with a juggy" , welcome to "luck", as seen in many areas such as "Lottery".
