Cheating on a platform single player game is one thing. Cheating in a multiplayer game or MMO is TOTALLY a different thing. You can't even compare using a memhack on ff7 to POSing through aery or downloading an aimbot to kill other people in an FPS.

A cheat is a cheat is a cheat. Aimbots, POSHacks, they're all memhacks. You can't say that cheating in an MMO is different from a singleplayer game because it's not. That's the same concept as saying lying to your family is different from lying to your friends. Sure the effects and consequences are different... but you're still a liar.

I personally don't know who Pookiepoo/Jens is, the information we found was for the person who bought my account. Really it could be anyone of the hundreds that I've irritated/pissed off in the past 2 years, or it could just be somebody in search of a quick way to make money.

There is a difference between using cheats in a single-player game and a MMORPG, more then one actually.

You are not effecting anybody using cheats in a single-player game. If you effect somebody else in your single-player game I suggest you quit playing that game right now. Most single-player games come with cheats made by the programmers, you will not be tossed into the pits of punishment for using a health code in GTA. Some cheats are not even hidden at all, you unlock cheats in Prince of Persia.

So please, enlighten me on your reasoning behind cheats being the horrible, unforgivable, evil, womanizing thing you are making it out to be.

I can't believe you're actually continuing to argue this point. If you cheat on a single-player game, it affects nobody's enjoyment of the game except your own. Cheating on an MMO or any multiplayer game at all is totally different, you're damaging the other players' experience to improve your own.

coming from a law enforcement officer here..... yes, yes it will be complicated to press criminal charges against a user where the "Illegal actions" took place in another country, off a database from another different country (however by the sounds of it though, it was not off of SE's database but off of a client computer), which affected a user from another completely different country. There is no possible way for any criminal charges to be filed against the user, nor even if someone tried to bring it to court, it would hold no grounds.

However, if your looking for actions against the user. The only thing that can be done would be SE can take action against the user and his/her accounts. They could try a civil lawsuit against the individual, but data coming from a "third party user" who in fact wasn't even involved in the original problem, and is also from a completely different country would get the case dismissed in any civil court in America.
