He did change his password but didn't reformat. Basically all the gear he bought with the money his friends gave him to get back on his feet has been sold again and the password changed now.
All GM's say is "We don't deal with compromised accounts" and advice him to reactivate it so it can just get hacked again I guess.

It is one thing to have someone account hacked, but if the modorators know who is doing it and not helping by pointing out an "anon" poster, then it is a sad day for FFXI.

To narrow it down, they look like a crafter to me. Possibly a Alchemist, working on subs (I don't know what all crystals alchemy uses). I know there are a billion crafters, but it could perhaps help.

EDIT: Or working on Alchemy sub.

Any possibilities these two <the hacked and the anon-hacker> are working together. It could be just one huge scam posted on BG to make it look real, he could just be getting out of scamming all his friends for helping him recover his "stolen" gear. Maybe he made millions off of this and is about to change servers and change names, who knows.
