Snoop probably done more harm to the ozone than CFC's. Anywho, I can't pledge public transportation/carpooling because I live 3 minutes from work. I drive a low emission honda anyway . Other than that, I always shut off all my lights, not because im trying to save the earth, but because im broke as hell and $400 utility bills suck. I have no damn idea what CFL lightbulbs are, my rails take halogen. And all my appliance are energy star! Go me.

Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs. They're those funky looking spiral ones. They're more expensive to buy, but because they use less energy they pay for themselves and then some in about 6 months I think.

I used these at home before I moved out. They are kinda funky looking, but they last long and do the job pretty well. Just don't break em, they contain mercury.
