Can't you sleep them? A brd shouldnt have trouble sleeping 3 incredibly weak mobs. I always have enough people to kill everything as they pop, not sure I ever tried sleep. I dont think you could do all 100pop, but you can probably hit many

The mobs would get up to 5 too often. You can sleep them, but you'd only be able to hit maybe, 50 spawns I'd say? Better than nothing.

Re: Dynamis vs. Limbus vs. Salvage vs. Einherjar

Where's the option for "All of the above, I <3 timesinks"?

I enjoy dynamis because there's still gear to get. Once I get full AF2 (for 3-4 jobs, not gonna happen any time soon) I imagine my desire to do it will fade, but it's still decent fun doing new and potentially stupid things in cities and seeing friends get rare/exclusive loot.

Limbus is great, if only it weren't so unreasonably stingy with bard AF+1 items. Chl. Cannions +1 wru? Proto fights are always fun, but it's annoying how you can beat Omega in a quarter of an hour with no deaths and get a couple of AF+1 materials and coins out of it, but when it comes to Ultima, you get drawn in, raped, and citadel buster'd. Square just hates mage jobs, it seems.

Einherjar's mass linking is fine if you bring a few bards. The randomness factor annoys the living hell out of me though. Got skeletons on this week's attempt, with no monks at all. I do agree that it seems to favour zerg tactics, and for a linkshell who tend to do stuff with a relatively small amount of players this is a considerable flaw. Only a matter of time before complaining allakhanoobs get it nerfed though.

I don't do Salvage, but having partied with people who've completed pieces of the Usukane and Ares sets, they seem like they're well worth the time invested.

I just want to say that this poll may not really be the most accurate poll. Alot of people who browse these forums are Salvage nuts, because Limbus and Dynamis are so old that few people need to browse forums to find information on them. Also, Salvage is still relatively new, and the majority of the player base doesn't do it, unlike with Dynamis and Limbus. Just wanted to point that out, but I voted for Salvage^^

Limbus: Fun, but too easy and old.

Dynamis: Most boring event in the game. Xarcabard is cool though, especially if you kill DL.

Salvage: I don't think any NAs on Ramuh do this reguarly. The little experience I've had with it has been good though, and I hope to do it much more soon.

Einherjar: Fun, challenging, quick. Would have gotten my vote if it wasn't for Hildesvini and the slightly too imbalanced mob sets.

Re: Dynamis vs. Limbus vs. Salvage vs. Einherjar

Limbus: Incredibly Easy, not much to see there until Omega/Ultima and then its just another "Hope it drops" situation.

Dynamis: Again, incredibly easy and oh-so-freaking boring. So many hours and just repeat repeat repeat.

Einherjar: Fun little event but the Marid screws stuff up in tier 1 and the elemental screws up tier 2. We still don't know enough to beat it with low numbers either. Too short for a lot of enjoyment.

Salvage: The last truely unbeaten realm of endgame where we haven't totally annihilated everything in it. We're still figuring portions of it out and it holds easily some of the most awesome gear in the game. A real challenge of skill and organization where the sucky players really won't ever be able to go.

Re: Dynamis vs. Limbus vs. Salvage vs. Einherjar

Dynamis gets boring very quickly. Having gone Blm to Dynamis, every dynamis my entire Lv75 End-game life, the odd occasion Corsair where then it is actually FUN trying to pull hate off of our tanks (Slug > Barrage > Slug > Death ^.^b), other than that it bores the living shit out of me. Xarcabard is still fun though, because the music keeps me awake at my 11pm>2am frollies. Beaucedine is booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooring.

Limbus I prefer to manaburn than go through with regular groups, because it's more fun, to be honest. Also, our linkshell hit a point where Blm hadn't dropped in Temenos for over 6 months, probably more, which grew to much frustration. And spamming Omega gets tedious.

Einherjar, I have done twice and I think we've lost the satisfaction of going because it's anal rapage too often.

Salvage, however, I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove~, would be bias though as I co-lead our shell's Salvage, but it's frickin' fun. How many times playing a game do you get to see people fight over the use of their Gloves, or bitch at me in tells because so-and-so didn't pass to them... How often do you see mages meleeing, BECAUSE YOU WANT THEM TO?! Hexa Strike, get the fuck in! Also, it's a place where Merits are the only thing that don't need a Cell to be activated, so the more merited you are, the better you are (Bit of a rich statement coming from Meritless Morrigan here :<) And, unlike Dynamis, Limbus, and Einherjar ... IT'S FUCKING FREE! No 1 million gil hourglass for Dynamis, no 30k/50k soap for Limbus, and no 180k Aladdin's Lamp for Einherjar, just 30 minutes of someone's time for a Permit, for items that surpass some Abjurations. How can you not like Salvage?

I had that though, too. But for some reason I thought it would be balanced since I see more Dynamis shells (but then again, just cuz someone does something a lot doesn't mean they enjoy it) than the other options and I know a good amount of people have said Limbus is the best feature (although I guess it's been very juiced out and with the addition of CoP Dynamis + Assault + Salvage + Einherjar it might not look as good to some people).

If "Assault" was there, I would have picked that one. It doesn't have better rewards, but it's much more varied, has more content, and is slightly easier to do(as in organize) assuming you don't have to rely on pick-ups. I guess Assault doesn't get included because you don't bring many people into it and it doesn't get "scheduled" by LSes.
Yeah, I had smallscale/less dedication in mind when I didn't include it. I also figured it might cause some conflict with votes for Salvage, since one could see that as a feature of Assault or something.
In retrospect I think I should've included it, but hindsight is always 20/20, eh?

Wafik couldn't have said it any better for how I feel. I have been our Dynamis leader for nearly 3 years now and I absolutly love dynamis. We have done dynamis 2 times a week pretty much for the entire existance of the shell and everyone has been rewarded with so many drops. I think our best was a dynamis-Jeauno (cant spell that word) >< where we got 20 AF's.

Recently though, Salvage has captured most of my interest and fun in the game due to its challenge and more rewarding when you do well and get a great drop. Sure it was nerfed some by the update but it is still not an event that can be slobbed through by any old pickup group. It takes increddible teamwork and planning and has 100% the best drops in the game if you are going to categorize.

Yeah, Salvage is winning my vote of late.

In part because we've finally been completing some pieces in our shell, and possibly also because it's still somewhat new.

Limbus would've been up there if Proto-Omega hadn't been utterly whoring me (no legs from him on the 7 runs when I've been on top of the lotting order)...

City/Northlands Dynamis I could do in my sleep, although the CoP zones are still kinda fun.

    Einherjar can kiss it.

I think there is a lot of bias against Limbus because it's old or based on who has what jobs leveled. Not that it matters, I guess. I just get the feeling if Salvage came out in CoP and Limbus came out now, people would be singing a different tune.

Aww, so much for comparing events to each other at their height. Well, that's what I did when I picked Limbus.

I like how it rewards players like Dynamis does(rare job based drops and currency), but there is a big boss at the end that acts like a HNM, two of them actually. In my opinion, that's how a perfect system would look like. Only thing that sticks out as lame is the Metal Chip Limbus, but that is easily ignored.

Salvage is more challenging and more strategic, but it sort of carries the bad traits of Dynamis without the currency.

I'd like to think they are about equal in actual content simply to make their comparisons easy.

Being able to do everything with 6-8 however can't be ignored when compared to dyna. Dynamis usually require more and can't be organized anytime. I know it's not really true, and a TP burn + 1 sleeper can do decent, but the price tag make it not a good investment

Re: Dynamis vs. Limbus vs. Salvage vs. Einherjar

Id say out of these 4 events i like Limbus and Salvage the most due to the fact that Limbus rewards you every run with something and coins go towards bigger items (capes, earrings etc) Proto-Omega/Ultima are fun for what they drop and the fact that again they consistantly drop *something* helps keep up morale among the members of the group.

Salvage is like the dark-horse of endgame, some people see it as a waste of time because the key to everything isnt widely known and beaten to hell yet whereas others love the adventure of getting gear that few others have. I enjoy salvage because it goes back to the roots of FF dungeon crawling for the best of the best and in 100mins you dont burn out like dynamis tends to do for me all while climbing a dungeon, killing shit in a SMALL group getting gear one piece at a time.

Einherjar.... is another example of SE taking the lazy route to things. The concept is good, but why the randomness? what is with the new idea that random = good? people want to formulate strategies BEFORE the run, not AFTER you go in and see your up a fucking creek without a paddle. Simply clearing up this randomized crap and making the Marid beatable would make Einherjar somewhat more desirable. Actual drops after a win that arent Wivre Mauls and Orobon Lures are another step in the right direction.

Maybe Dynamis should be randomized too SE, maybe the demon NMs in xarcabard should be too

Re: Dynamis vs. Limbus vs. Salvage vs. Einherjar

if I could've voted for two, I'd have voted for limbus and salvage.

as it is, I picked limbus because it's -still- fun, after all this time.

salvage is awesome, and with the new tweaks will probably continue to be fun two years from now too; although I dislike the 35's rate (its not bad per se, just that after eventually maxing your group out on 15's and 25's. it's possible to make a run at a zone, be successful, and come out with nothing; which is something limbus neatly avoids.) I don't think it's necessarily something that would need to be fixed though - I would just accept that as a reason for someone not loving it.

einherjar would be much better if there was some consistency at least. (or if the bosses were even marginally balanced against each other) and the effort/reward ratio at this point is -way- off considering you have approximately a 25% chance of just getting outright screwed out of winning. (between unkillable bosses, ridiculous trash mobs, and the conjunction of the two)

dynamis? eh. 3 hours is a long time to see your 354th wyrm armet and still be waiting for your 3rd duelist's chapeau. it gets repetitive too, since all the zones basically play out the same way. (cop dynamis alleviated this somewhat, but doesn't quite work as a complete alternative to running traditional zones.)

Re: Dynamis vs. Limbus vs. Salvage vs. Einherjar

I wish there was a way of randomising Limbus and then it would hold the interest longer. We haven't been doing it that long as a shell (even if individuals have) but even we can see that it's going to get dull. I do like the coin drop system and the time limit.

I like Salvage even though our luck is shitty in it. I love the pathos idea and it's a little different. I also like that you can plan routes.

I still like Dynamis. I think I'm one of the few peeps who still does >.>. Sure I'm 5/5 (6) on WHM and yeah I am sick of Jeuno but I still like it. Admittedly not much left to do there though so it will go stale.

One bad experience of Einherjar and many horror stories later I have no desire currently to go back.

Take Limbus, Salvage and Nyzul Isle assault, mix them up a little and you'd have almost a perfect event.
