In many aspects actually... I hated it.
it's similiar, but still, it's like comparing a korean knockoff MMO to the actual MMO made in america. it's mildly entertaining, but it just lacks bad.
Saint's Row is like the WoW to FFXI, or the Forza 2 to GranTurismo. Newer, better, nicer looking, but the same old rehashed gameplay.Originally Posted by Mysterio
GTA4 however is a whole nother beast, and it will move the 360's if anything. Since Microsoft has the rights to all the downloadable content (new chapters and missions).
This holiday is going to end up being a tie between nintendo and microsoft, mainly because of GTA4/Halo/Blue Dragon vs. massive success of the wii.
I don't see Sony making a fighting chance untill next year, when MGS:4 (hopefully) goes up against Gears 2/Lost Oddyssey.
I just hope they're not going to milk us for the downloadable content (aka, the game you buy will only have a certain amount of missions, and you would have to buy the rest of them on the marketplace, making it sort of incomplete..).
And if in that case PS3 will have the full version, i'd rather pick up that version.
lol? You're kidding right?Originally Posted by Exoduso
The downloadable content will feature new storylines and missions. Both games will be the exact same except one has extra stuff that you can pay for, lol.
I disagree. I think LBP is going to be popular for a month or so until it boils down into a little niche community.Originally Posted by Mysterio
Regarding GTA4:
They had some interview recently with some game guy, even though I can't remember his name, that said he was informed by a representative of Take 2 Interactive that each version will have something that the other version doesn't have. I'll do what I can to find the source but bet your first born on it.
I read it too, this is what was going to happen untill M$ threw cash at that problem.Originally Posted by Pyro
No no, what I'm talking about just recently happened, like, within the past two weeks.
None of it really matters anyways because the game I'm most looking forward to is Crysis. I couldn't imagine being a console only gamer.
It didn't, people just have a tendency to talk like that when they don't like something. In the week it came out, FFXII sold 1.76Million copies in japan, just behind FFX's initial 1.9Million. In the US it sold 1.5Million after the first week and in the UK it was the fastest selling PS2 game ever when it came out. Far from a flop, I'd say. There's always the people who'll like it and the people who won't like it, regardlessI wasn't aware FF12 flopped
And yeah I'm pretty sure they announced GTA4 was going to have unique features on each platform, although they didn't say what kind of features they would be. But besides that, in the same way you can say that PS3 would have one game and 360 would have the same thing, plus more downloadable content, you could also turn it around and say the PS3 will have everything from the start and the 360 will have only part of it, the rest you'll have to download.
On the ps3, they'll be using uncompress 7.1 audio (a majority of the bluray disc), and probably 1080p movies. Just compress the audio to 5.1, and 720p movies and it'll be good to go on 2 DVD discs.Originally Posted by Exoduso
Also, Konami's not to happy about the small price cut.
linkWith Sony dropping the price of the PlayStation 3 by $100, Konami is now saying that it just isn’t enough to turn the fortunes of the console.
In an interview with Reuters, Kazumi Kitaue, the head of Konami's North American and European operations said, “I wonder if Sony can win back user support by the price cut of just $100. I don't expect a substantial impact ... With $500, you can buy a personal computer."
Kitaue also mentioned that Konami may need to start developing Metal Gear Solid for other consoles in the future in order to recoup development costs.
"Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps," Kitaue said.
Konami expects to grow in the next business year, starting April 2008. With an estimated 5 percent growth for this year, the user base for the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and PS3 continues to expand.
"Next year is still a growth period. I think we will grow, and so will the industry," he said
That's not possible. If DLC is free on another system it has to be free on the 360. When the PS3 version of R6Vegas came out with the free map packs, Ubisoft had to refund the 360 owners that purchased the black map pack and change the prices of the black/red maps to free. Remember the article Bethany posted, Take2 plans on making 50 mil off these episodes so they won't exist on the PS3 version. Besides you know the 360 version will be better graphically/fps wise. Regarding exclusive content on the ps3, the article everyone is talking about is from an analyst Michael Pachter, not a Take 2 representative.Originally Posted by Exoduso

Why will it be better graphically again?
Every multiplat game sans Oblivion has been? Even the ps3 to 360 ports, ie VF5/Armored Car has been as well. But most importantly, the 360 is the lead platform, and they've been working on that version a bit longer then the ps3 version and unless they delay the ps3 version by 6 months, there's like a 98% chance it'll be better on the 360.Originally Posted by Exoduso
Wow, you make no sense at all lol.
I don't care which looks better, i'll personally pick the 360 version over the ps3 just because of the achievements and DL content... I hope the PS3 releases their trophy system thingamagig soon.
And thanks for pointing out which part didn't make sense.
All the new football games will run at 60 FPS on 360, and only 30 FPS on the PS3 too.Originally Posted by Semitry
That's right, Madden, NCAA 2008, and All-Pro Football 2k8 will all run at twice the Frames Per Second on the "weaker" system, even at max resolution.
Proof inside
The 360 is just plain easier to develop for.
and omg lol, you love to change your mind don't you? When Armored Core 4 came out, you were saying the exact opposite.Originally Posted by Exoduso

I'd take that with a grain of salt and wait what Kojima has to say (if anything) simply because he is one stubborn mofo. Whenever he produced a game with his company, Kojima Studios, he was basically to a certain extent in total control of the whole production. Furthermore, hasn't he stated before Guns of the Patriots was his last MGS? If anything, another team may take over the franchise and develop/port it to other consoles. Then again, MGS is not MGS without Kojima ;x Let's see what E3 reveals!Originally Posted by Semitry

Pretty sure GTA4 wasn't going to be a port from the 360, didn't they go the extra mile and have 2 separate developments for each system?
