Oh I agree, Sony's entire business approach with the PS3 is stupid, pathetic, you name it.. but it still doesn't take away from the fact that they DO have a good console... it just lacks games.

MGS would be pretty hard to port over the same way Kojima wants it to be on the PS3 (he's been talking about wanting a dual layer bluray before willing to release the game), but it could still look OKAY, which is something he doesn't want I don't think.

If he were to move it to the 360, it would probably be a couple of years after its release like they did the gamecube's MGS1(it was 1 right? >.>), at which point it won't really matter.

And I want to believe that the MGS brand by itself is big enough to warrant a PS3 purchase (when you look at its release date, there would also be heavenly sword, ratchet, and a couple of other good titles that are supposed to be out by then, which would certainly make someone wonder whether 500 bucks is worth spending on it, rather than just saying fuck it to sony right now because there really isn't a reason.)

The main reason I bought a PS3 is because I knew I would buy it in the long run anyways, and my PS2 just happened to die right around the time. It was just the smartest thing for me to do, because I could play the games (which are now upscaled which is pretty decent looking) on the console in the meanwhile while I wait for new, deserving games to come out.

As has been posted dozens of times, MGS should be pretty easy to port over: just downsample and compress the audio and video and you'll have the disc size issue taken care of. Kojima may not "want" it, but I'm sure he wants to see his game be a success, and it simply makes no sense to severly restrict the market you are selling too without very good external rea$on$.

The Konami exec agitating over PS3 sales is extremely similar to what the SE exec did a few months back when discussing FF13 and it's them subtely saying to Sony, "hey, give us more money for exclusivity because we know that you need us badly".

I don't think sony has any other option because losing mgs and ff as exclusives would be shooting them in the foot and basically ending like the dreamcast right then and there.

I'm betting on that being the plan. He wants the original to be beautiful on the PS3. As a director he probably wants his way and it to be exclusive, for the original anyways.

PSP is a pretty awesome portable PSX. The games themselves suck though (unless you have a blackcats account and like I mentioned, the custom firmware to turn it into a portable PSX and play the 2-3 good games out.. )

Crisis Core should be decent though. (I still haven't spent a buck on the PSP other than buying the damn thing itself..)

I'm sorry, but I refuse to pay 40-50(whatever the hell they charge I never bought one) for a PSP game, since none of them are really worth it. Now downloading them and trying them out is a different thing, but that's just my opinion.

Ya, I just never really tried it or attempted to. I got my PSP for free. Bought like, Ridge Racer, MGA2, and MGS: POps. And that's it. And the last two were actually from trade ins, I maybe paid $5 afterwards.

I only play my portables when I'm travelling, or really bored at home or work. And it's easier to pass off fucking off on the internet on a PC than it is fucking off on a portable game device.

But I see what you're saying. If I spent more time on my portable I would do the same.

I fly a couple of times every month, so having my PSX FF's with me rather than the boring PSP games (the games you mention are on one of my SD cards that I use for my psp though, I use them once in a while ) is definitely a plus.

Theyre 170. I'm thinking of taking my brothers PSP + Lumines and trying to put some of the older PS games on it.

You think Super Puzzle Fighter and FF7 can git on 2gig SD card? That'd be fucking ill if they did.

Where and how do I go about modding it? Do I have to do a raindance or be a leet hacker in order to get them to work?
