NIN in salvage

Hi, I'm the WAR in question. I do in fact have a ridill, our general setup is only a 6 man group of RDM BRD WHM SAM WAR NIN ( possibily adding another WHM and a BLM), would it be best i get an axe for LBC?@@

if its a 6man run then a war pref CAN TRY ridill it to 50% and run away be it nerf or no nerf, because he starts spam WS and LBC hits HARD

if u dont wanna take the risk, go dual axe

usually 6 man PT LBC WHM RDM will run out of MP really fast at 30% and below

the MNK really need to count shadows lol

Warrior/Ninja with Maneater/Juggernaut and Carbonara is a really effective tank or co-tank in Salvage, since its going to have Monk-like HP and Attack. Use the Ridill on the early floors vs. the weaker enemies, then swap to axe/axe on boss.

Hello, my group just started salvage a month ago so we're still very noob to it
We have taken down LAC and BC many times, we used mnk/nin for tank usually with the occasional nin
we normally have 2x rdm, 1x brd, 1x whm, our fights aren't very clean but we are improving
We have attempted LBC twice and have been completely destroyed by him
Hits too hard, our healers can't keep up, we knock it down to around 60-70% before wiping

My question is: Is NIN able to evasion tank LBC or is his accuracy much superior compared to the other chariots? because I noticed with LAC and BC, they miss alot and they get dmged a whole lot more and their aoe is less severe
I know there is several threads regarding the chariot fights but I have seen no mention of evasion tanking and wanted to confirm if its effective or not

LBC has pretty much capped accuracy. Evasion tanking does not work.

IDK why someone would try going for an evasion setup when DD tanking works just as fine and you get more hate, damage and faster kills.

Mambos means you're not using minuet and march, which means the enmity is gonna be a lot weaker than damage tanking...not to mention you'd be lacking some actual damage, considering DD tanks makes up a good percentage of the damage. For my group, me and Alma makes up over half the overall damage on most chariot fight, since we usually relegate BLMs to stun duty on LBC and BC, and AC + LAC have really...reaaaaally weak defense.

Anyway, I wouldn't count on evasion set for LBC, seeing as the fucking thing still hits tanks even with WHM flashing him.

For general chariot tanking, especially LBC since he's basically the hardest of them all, the key to surviving is being able to cast shadows during AoE.

AoE WS have 1 or so second windup, and with proper debuff (elegy and slow), you'd have around few seconds before it start attacking again.

You can usually slip an ichi through discharge/inertia stream, and those WS doesn't break cast. Having a fresh set of shadow after AoE means life and death on LBC if you are DD tanking him.

Still, as far as LBC is concerned, expect things to go hectic at the last 20% or so...there is a good chance you'll die, which isn't always a bad thing if you're duo tanking, since it'll lower the TP gain rate (not by much, fucker has regain) and free up your healer to focus on the surviving tank....but just be prepared for it to happen, and make sure your group does too.

arhat+1 head and body + jelly ring + earth staff =- 40% physical damage

Ok. Looking at trying tanking NIN/WAR myself on LAC because recently we've had problems due to being unable to get hate back on MNK/NINs after Brainjacks :\

I've done Nin/drk on chariots, did very well the 2 trys but I'd rather let Plds tank for their cure power. Not to mention our LS leader finished Pld and dinged into Baha Mask, Homam, Ect and my Nin/drk gear can't compete with that (I used mostly bought gear).

Yeah. We have a great PLD in our group, but with our setup, she's really needed as WHM as to not have a Galka WHM who doesn't really use WHM much, so he has about 600 MP >_>;;

nin with brd(elegy+double march), rdm(slow2, paralyze2, slow2), whm, can solo tank LBC without any problems( if ur melee dont go nuts~ ^^). And less TP give to Chariots(which means dont bring too many melee) is always good, cause their WS strip shadows. u can tank as nin w/ dd equip, enmity equip, or whatever normal equip with the right support...

And, um. dont try LBC with low numbers, need as least 8 for most ppl i guess. 3blm whm brd rdm tank(nin prefer) and other dds, because u might not be able to kill gear in 60 sec without enough dd. When u have low numbers like 6,7 or not enough blms, just go do the other zone, dont waste ur APs...

Ridill is never fine on Chariots. Dunno what you have except Ridill as your gear (I have the best possible gear for Sword and fully capped Sword merits), but I had no troubles getting hate off Kikoku NIN with Dual Axes (capped also, but no Torque), and after you release 2h, LBC will kinda stick to you. With Marches and Haste blink shouldn't be an issue, but even using Dual Axes in zerg style will cause LBC to spam TP moves as hell. I was forbid to use Ridill on LBC, but I can imagine TP spammage if I would use it.

And forget bout DEF and eva lol, I was tanking on Berggressor and it was just fine. All you have to do just keep an eye on your shadows. If you see LBC using TP move just hit utsu macro (I hit ichi then, since it's enough time to recast). I'm using Body Boost at the very start of the battle, since it last for quite a long time, with all braver's, soldier's, champions and other meds it's just pure fun. And if you'll be able to get Fanatic's on the way to the Boss, just forget bout blink and slash & chop, chop & slash.

Said it already, Ridill + MNK is fine with 2 healer/brd on chariot. Doesnt give much more tp than axe/axe, and help your dmg a lot. 2 ridill war on chariot in a 6men party is too much tho.
