Solo BLM 73-74

I couldn't find this on the search so I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on where I can solo.

I'm 73, have solid gear (ugg pen, moldy, errant bod/legs, igqira weskit, all AF, etc), have /whm and /rdm, and no merits.

I've been experimenting with Nyzul Isle area, but the mobs are scarce, and the pulls make getting even Chain #1 basically impossible. Plus the THFs can't be solo'd (yay for triple attack for 150) without a lot of difficulty and risk. I went to Marids with a 3 man BLM group at 72, and I was getting good damage but without the AMII damage I don't know if I could kill it fast enough. Plus if Chigoes spawned...oy. I was also at Puddings at 72 (got lucky with manaburn groups) and I don't think I could solo those at 72 either.

Get a blm friend or two and try Wamouras. They're easy and plentiful and almost always uncamped.

The qiqirns (poultiers or w/e, NOT the goldsmiths) in Undersea ruins are pretty good, tough to chain though since you have to avoid linking them with the thf type. Whenever i was just about done with a session, i'd exit to thickets where all the merit pts go & if no one was on the mamools at the exit, you can snag a quick chain 4 off the wyvers. Unfortunately, they seem to only spawn 2 pets before they stop summoning. I went here when I was seeking for a manaburn as my /rdm wasn't leveled, so soloing anything that required gravity was a no go.

Getting in manaburns or duo/trios on mt. Z will be much better xp though.

Yes, wamouras at level 73 are 345 xp for a VT one, but kind of hard when your gear blows >.>, the occasional resist, and runnign around trying to enfeeble. Its very nice xp if you play your cards right. A blm/blm or blm/rdm duo works wonders here, and pretty much past the gates is wamoura-land so there is enough mobs for everyone.

As BLM / RDM duo you can try Dahaks too, for fun. :D

Head through to the other side of Mt. Z by the Daahaks, there's a single wamoura by a zone, easy spot for lazy fights and you can gtfo if it's getting tricky.

and bring full enfeeble equips which are enfeebling torque, igira head piece and pants will be needed. Especially if possible, get hq staves.

If you are taru mp won't be problems. But if you are hume/mithra, you need to manage your mp alittle bit, especially elv where you always need to rest twice for 2 extra tier 4 nuke to manage to kill the prince.


and yea.... if you are elv, you will only able to kill one every 5mins, dont try to rush to kill 2 before another pops, because your mp will not allow you to do that.

don't mean to hijack your thread Talisien, so i apologize if that's what it comes across, but i had a related question.

i've been soloing 66 in sea on hpemdes (which is great, i'll solo when i can to avoid humans, no complaints; edit: ok yes, invites do blow for blm, i don't even bother since 57 though :wink for 250-420xp a pop, usually just chain #2 if i try due to mp (mithra, but top of the line gear for lvl66). last night a rl friend who has blm @75 with merits & excellent equipment told me to tag along with him to mt. z & duo the wamouras. my question is, would exp for me be better than what what i get in sea duoing these with him? as usual i'm stuck at work and can't go test this, and our schedules don't line up most days, so i figured i'd ask if anyone happened to know off the top of their head. he can solo these himself, and i realize i'd basically be leeching exp, but if he didn't mind, i wouldn't mind. just kind of wondering since i saw related posts here.

You dont need the legs (since those are more expensive than neckpiece), but the torque is nice to have.

As for the above question, yes the xp will be a lot faster with your lvl75 friend. Yesterday doing duo with a RDM75 friend, i was getting 10xp less in each kill (im lvl73), I did most of the killing, but due to gear/ElvaanMP, i was short 3 or 4 nukes to kill without sleep, we were getting chain 4 when paying attention. My gravity wasnt getting resisted as much even on IT, but he did most of the gravs.
Took us about 1 to 2 minutes to kill each mob, plus me resting the MP (about other 1 to 2 minutes). A decent geared BLM75 should be able to almost kill a wamoura with a single MP bar.

Edit: your xp wont be better each kill, it will be faster yes. I must admit is sexy to watch Tajin gains 345 experience points, but is just too damn slow (and risky) sometimes, that is just not fun.

Forgot to put into post but, chains went like this: 160 - forgot -.- - C4: 266. lets say its 160 x 4 + C4 = 906xp in about... 10-15 minutes my numbers are a bit off.

If you're 66, forget Sea or even leeching off a 75 BLM in mt Z, you'll get better camp of Newton gob pet's if the camp(s) are open.

Headpiece is 10k...there is no reason to not have it

After 72, just go leech pudding manaburn or duo wamoura with another blm of your level. Don't bug people to get in their party, wait on seek for a nice blm if you want to leech.

Is Blizzard 4 (and i guess Thunder4 too) more dependant on Elemental Skill ?, because dinging into 74 only to find Aero4 does more damage (and gets resisted less) is only fun the first few chains

blizzard IV and thunder IV should do more. i'm going to guess the reason behind this is you dinged at wamoura princes. they resist the first spell cast on them typically, i think when they aren't curled up is when they resist spells to about 70% damage or something?

Yeah, i always start with a t3 on wamoura, to get them to curl their tail underneath, then they take more damage from magic.

Headpiece is 40k on hades but enfeebling is getting resisted enough where it's worth the investment. I'll grab that tonight.

I put a /seacom last night that had "Team Up? Mount Z." as well as my @25000 runic portal:6/6 junk and got no bites. Maybe tonight I'll just try finding a BLM around my level and dragging him to Mt. Z myself =)

I usually went to Rat RNG cause they were close to Whitegate zone & I solo'd to 72. Once at 72 you will get more bites on the team up or manaburn pts.

Or just go farm uragnite, get 10 shell, find a nice crafter and get HQ! Easy craft I think, people just dont farm uragnanite. Also, getting pants and enfeebling torque asap, should be your next investment imo, unless you don't have HQ staves.
