There are plenty of people that'll tell you God of War is one of the top action games in recent memory, so many in fact, that I think we can count it as objective evidence of God of War being a quality game, as games go.

Cry me a river... I just didn't think it was that interesting, there are a dozen games in the same genre and are better than it.

Maybe I just wasn't into the whole character thing, but I find the game to extremely overrated, and it really isn't as good as some fans claim. It's a decent action/adventure, nothing more.

The gameplay does look really good though, I don't understand why people are trashing it just because Sony made it.. for me, I doubt any action game would be as good as KH2 was in terms of gameplay(at least for a while), but HS seems to be up there with goh and kh.

MGS4 alone would take first priority over any of those games, don't try to act oblivious towards it. Followed by Mario Kart Wii and SSBB of course. UGHH I can't wait for TGS.

I love MGS games, don't get me wrong. But I bet it doesn't make it onto shelves until April 2008, at the earliest.

Yea, Nintendo's fall/christmas lineup is pretty amazing, and should shut up most of the people whining about the whole "There's only casual games on the Wii" thing, while at the same time giving casual gamers plenty of treats. Most of Sony's bigguns are out next year at the earliest, which is why I was kinda hoping for more "now" stuff.

I think Sony easily had the best conference this year. They showed what mattered, the games. If they can actually deliver on all the things they've shown so far, it'll be an interesting first quarter next year.

Nintendo babbled about statistics and had a 30 minute presentation for lazy people who don't have a gym membership. It'll probably sell well, but only because Americans are lazy and obese. SoccerMom will buy ObeseSon WiiFit and ObeseSon will do a pushup and some stepping excercises while eating his big mac. Maybe the on-floor demos of other games will be better, but honestly I don't see how anyone can think Nintendo put up an impressive conference.

Microsoft showed little to nothing on their flagship game. I'm guessing now that things are on the floor we'll see much more of Halo, maybe get a better comparison to Killzone2, which looked amazing. First impressions of Halo3 to me was that it looked way too similar to Halo2 graphically, and that's not a complement to 2. Just my opinion, I have a 360 so I'm hoping the gameplay footage of Halo3 is much more convincing. Also LOL at comparing the Halo series, as a story, to Star Wars. Are you kidding me Bill Gates? Halo has no story, it's a SHOOTAM GAEM!

I'm very disappointed in Halo3's graphical "achievements", if you can even call them that.

I was expecting way more out of that franchise, especially from an Xbox1>>Xbox360 transition.

I just think it's funny how things have changed. With all these Anti-Sony people now on the rise. Well I still have faith in Sony. They delivered some of the best games on the PS1, and 2. People are giving up after not even 1 year after it's launch release? It's so retarded and most of these people are probably the same people who played thru FF games, MGS, Resident Evil, all the amazing greats. I wasn't fully convinced to buy a PS3 yet, but once MGS4 hits I am all for it.

Sure they are at fault because developers have a harder time making games for their console, but look at their first party games. They all look amazing, Kojima team isn't that far behind either. Just because EA fails at making 60FPS possible doesn't mean it's going to be like that forever.

Edit: Do whatever the hell you want. I'm just saying I am not buying into this whole Wii Fit thing and their other upcoming gimmicks.

No, you'll like it too. A comprehensive list of Wii games (the kind to look forawrd to) on the way that you may or may not have heard of, eventually equipped with hyperlinks leading to direct info and videos. I'm not sure what everyone's tastes are, and there can be good games out that someone just isn't interested in, but this whole "there's nothing on the Wii lol" tripe has just got to stop. It's one thing to say you aren't interested in something (I'm not interested in Halo, or Killzone, for example), it's another thing entirely to say that there's nothing there at all (or nothing for the "hardcore gamer"). I don't follow star wars, but to say that Halo has no story is retarded. The game has 3 (2 were actually good) novels, and although it's not too deep, the halo universe is really cool. Perhaps you should pay attention to the cut scenes?

Everytime they showed some new game trailer, no matter how awesome it looked... pretty much the only person that clapped was the speaker and the entire audience seemed rather unethusiastic in general. Is that just how those things are done? Or was most of it crap everyone's already seen before?

I know the place wasn't going to be full of gamers this year and I wasn't exactly expecting a riot during things like Halo 3 and MGS4 but I wasn't expecting such relative silence from the audience :\

I think it's less people actively "turning against Sony" and more exclusive series fans hurt by $599 and reacting.

Your active gamer is more apt to spend that on or towards a new computer or components than an entire game system. But I'm just looking at all of this kind of like, holy shit they're really trying to tear gaming away from PC's, and build entire media systems around that concept.

I think these are just the prototypes for the next gen after this which will just be fucking mindblowing amazing in capability, but as expensive as a nice computer.

Seconded. Great story line. Whenever I meet up with my brother for Christmas we replay Halo 1 and 2 co-op modes.

Nobody had any super-exciting announcements is why. The best announcement was PSP Lite. Reciting a list of games that are coming to the console in the next 6-12 months is a snoozefest. Everyone knows already.

Right there ISN'T anything on the Wii if you beat Zelda/Trauma Center... it's all a bunch of party games.

Sure, you can say that more stuff is coming out soon, but the same can be said for the PS3... hence, why is the Wii not getting bashed like the PS3 is? Perhaps because of the price? Sure, but the Wii can't even play a DVD let alone bluray, so it's pretty dull.

I'll probably end up buying a Wii if SSBB/Metroid do good, but even then... SSBB, Metroid, and Mario Galaxy (which looks pretty stupid to be perfectly honest..), other than those 3 what else would draw the "hardcore" (doesn't even need to be hardcore, but for this argument's purposes we'll go with that) gamer to the console? You can only play SSBB for so long. Where's Fire Emblem and FF (not sure how good FF CC will be on the Wii, but at least it's something) that aren't even getting release dates yet?(as far as I know, correct me if i'm wrong.)

I loved the Wii for the first couple of months, but since I beat Zelda and Trauma Center back in January~ I had absolutely no use for it outside of some fun games that I downloaded from the VC (which seems to be the Wii's strong point atm..) I was just hoping for more honestly. (you could also say that RE4 is good, but without the zapper thingy i'm not really interested. )

Well granted the PS3 is capable of a lot of things my PC isn't. I would rather buy a PS3 than upgrade my current system to be able to run Crysis, Gears of War, Starcraft 2 and other huge hits. It would come out a lot cheaper in the long run. All I do lately on PC is obviously web browse and watch TV shows. Why not have something new? I'm glad I didn't buy it back then, but I am pretty sure I will be once some smash hits come out.
