    Re: E3

hi Blue Dragon/Lost Odyssey... I have high hopes for these 2 titles (eve nthough the BD demo was bleh in the beginning, it got a little better in the 2nd dungeon though..)

EDIT: And see, I didn't know about that weather thing... if it's just a normal FPS with no new element introducted though I probably wouldn't care enough to rent it, let alone buy it.

I understand Exo, MS has good games coming for it, and its trying to shed away the stigma of Shootan Games, but until people go hey look Microsoft brought over good RPG's from Japan/Where ever and its doing well, the companies will be stereotyped to a cetain genre/style

Same goes for Sony trying not only to cater to a JP market then US then EU, but getting all 3 markets covered in 1 aspect

The things is do you think the people who have 360's and who have been playing GeOW, Haol 2, Rainbow Six Vegas and all the other FPS/adventure titles, will shift their view over to LO and BD.

MS may gain some Sony and Nintendo gamers for the new RPG's (maybe even me...maybe), but its the share of the players already they have, are they willing to "Jump In" and support these types of games is the key

If you're looking for a good multiplayer FPS then you should get an Xbox. (for obvious reasons)
Matter of fact, if you're looking for a good multiplayer system then I would still recommend xbox.
The only thing that i'd buy the PS3 for is MGS. Heavenly Sword looks good but I think Exo is overhyping it just a tad. Ninja Gaiden and God of War will probably both go down as better games.

One more thing, if Sony really wants to sell more systems, they should try bundling a Headset or vibrating Six-Axis controllers. I would take both of those any day of the week over lolorstorm.

I probably am in comparison to God of War 3, dunno about Ninja Gaiden though since I didn't really like the demo (just me, the whole enviornment just isn't my taste I guess).. Regardless though, HS should still be a pretty good action game. (I just like it a lot because the choreography of the action looks a lot like KH's, only a tiny bit slower than KH, which makes it look really cool.

The thing is FPS arent my main genre that I love to play

    RPG's, Adventure/Action (1 player only)
I alone play the game, so no benefit for me to buy party games, or other peripherals of that nature
Multiplayer wise Im towards the GeoW or Socom man myself
FPS arent what Im truly interested in, only certain times a FPS game might resonate inside me to go try it out, and if I like it, buy it
Now there are tons of FPS on both PS3 and 360 (coming/already here/porting over)

Im inclined to say I will be getting KZ2, Fracture, and maybe that Half Life 2 Orange Box (I think that is the 1) for the PS3
Only other purchases I will be making are Warhawk/Socom: Confrontation/Lair/Heavenly Sowrd/GTA IV, maybe Onlivion Expansion Shivering Isles if they release it for the PS3

If 360 ever gets a price I might pick it up, and buy a nice package for it, till then, Im staying with what I feel will give me the most out of my $$$$ (my opinion, and not a fact)

E3 must suck for each company

they need to stick to having their own events, like Sony Gamers day and stuff, but for all 3 consoles.

Weren't you the one telling other people to stop overreacting about the console stuff only a few posts ago?

I'm pretty sure that's OFN, anyway. I remember hearing about it a while ago. Afaik they already know how to fix it and the newer ones won't have that problem

I wouldn't worry about competition slowing down, I'm pretty sure it's not going anywhere for a good long time(at least till 2009). Chips will be fixed, new shipments will arrive, etc etc.

What's the deal with Lost Odysessy? I saw a few trailers and read about it a while ago and from what I saw/read I was not impressed. Looks like it plays like any standard RPG, maybe I missed something here...

Um, ? Do you, not like Final Fantasy? This looks like it could have been FF13 lol. I'm more excited for this game than Blue Dragon.

The fuck you talking about? Gameplay wise this looks like a normal turn based RPG, that's what I saw fromt he gameplay video. You showed me a trailer that doesn't do anything to make me interested. Sure, it's pretty and looks nice. But is it fun to play? I seriously feel like I'm missing out on something cause based on what I saw the game doesn't deserve the hype.

When I asked my question I was looking for a serious answer, what makes this game stand out from other RPGs? Or is the fact that there's an RPG on the X360 seem to be enough?

I dunno... that game looks pretty intense. It felt like I was watching various FF series wrapped into one game.

I guess what I expect in RPG's is a level of depth'ness... and that seems to make my mouth water.

Dude, the fact that it's being made by the creator of Final Fantasy should be interesting enough. This isn't a situation like Killzone where they are working from a mediocre original. The creators of this game actually have a phenomenal track record with RPG's.

If this same trailer was brought to me by a lesser known studio then yes, I'd understand where you were coming from. But why did Sakaguchi leave SE in the first place? Because he didn't like the direction that SE was going with Final Fantasy. Of course he's going to go back to his roots, using a formula that's been working for him for years. Good story, pretty backdrops, interesting main character, big wyrm bosses, good music, etc etc... It's ok to be skeptical, but you're doing it for all the wrong reasons here.

People whine that 360 is only known for its shootan gaems. People whine that there isn't any traditional JRPG's on the system. And when then they arrive, people whine because they're not "different" enough?

I know I'm not the only one who thinks Final Fantasy games are gods gift to RPG gamers. Just because it's made by people who used to work at SE on FF games should I immediately shit my pants, drop what I'm doing and run around the street praising this game? Hell, if you said to me it was made by Tri-Ace I might've been interested.

People whine that there aren't any J/RPGs on 360 I know, but that doesn't meen you can take the piss and release something that on the PS2 would be called a piece of shit and never given the time of day. Maybe it's just me, but I've played so many RPGs that occasionally, and especially in this generation, that I like to look for/play something new and interesting. Interesting story and characters aside, if the game is boring then it's not gonna be popular. Xenosaga is the same thing, amazing story and whatnot but when it comes to playing it falls short. What happened when they changed the gameplay in XS3? The game as a whole became a lot more enjoyable.

People who whine when there are no RPGs then get a shit one and jump for joy are people I'd rather not interact with. Standards people, have some standards.

Saying again, right now I think this game doesn't deserve the hype, show me something more interesting with the system and I would be glad to give it a chance. If I wanted to play some oldschool/traditional RPGs I would go play some oldschool traditional RPGs.

    Re: E3

Ok, lets try again. People are saying that it might be good, and have high hopes of it being so, because it is being made by someone with a very good track record for RPGs.

Get it? No need to be a killjoy.
