WTF at new jobs, they'll never fucking tune all the existing jobs or bring out TOAU jobs AF+1 or Relic armor so why spam more stuff they wont complete?
But if they really are gonna.. Geomancerno more fucking PUP

Zi'Tah is Zilart, Glacier is main game.
It's not too hard to tell which was which, especially if you started playing before CoP.
Both Outland islands, Tu'lia, Li'telor, Vollbow, any tunnels that lead to Vollbow or Kuzotz, Canal, and the deeper area of Tomb were added with RoZ.
That kinda confuses me on how they'll implement Taznazian safehold if they do it. I know its a part of COP and not RoZ, but it wasn't a part of the original zones either so /shrug.Originally Posted by BRP
I think the road to tav will feature new maps we see in those screenshots with the bridges that appear to be lufaise and we will have to go thru terrigan to get there.
Terrigan is worthy of mentioning. The Lightbringer caused the area to be blocked off by mountains.Originally Posted by Lordender
hay, instead of making new jobs, fix the current ones (well, mainly just PUP I don't care about the rest).
Go back in time and kill all crabs so I'll never have to level off them again?Originally Posted by Croy

why terrigan? if the land bridge isnt broken you should be able to take a chocobo there from san'doria no? heck there should still be ship routes going to sealions den.Originally Posted by Lordender
edit:crabs are nothing all fucking beetles need to go the way of the Dodo. also i hope whatever left those bones by the maze of shakrami entrance isnt still alive in the past >_>
somehow what i think they mean by extinction is that certain mobs that were around 20 years ago will not show up 20 years later in the current zones.. ie to say there will be new mobs in the retro-areas..
unless they're also implying that if people dont kill those mobs in the past, they'll start popping in the future (maybe as hnms >_>?) or you could go into the past and kill off baby bloodtear and prevent him from spawning lol.
I think speculation is perfectly fine, as long there is a basis for it. Geomancers could be made to be a mix of geomancy and elementalism. Such as instead of making attacks directly influenced by surroundings, make the surroundings play an integral part in determining whatever tools a GEO can work with. The fact that there are element-days and weather in FFXI as opposed to older FFs also give potential for depth with such a job.
As to the point that they should fix old jobs before introducing new ones, i personally do think that new jobs are a tad too soon, but not because they're not tweaked well enough but because people haven't really settled into them. Look at Zilart. When the Zilart expansion era started 4 new jobs were introduced and this was when the lv cap was 60. Nothing was really balanced yet, and some may argue not even those jobs are fully balanced yet.. but its not as if SE completely ignores the old when the new comes around. Jobs are one of those things that have constantly been tweaked no matter if they were the original 11 or the 4 released at the time of zilart or the 3 from toa. All of them will still see support. Besides, that argument holds little water when you consider that BLU is amongst the most stable and balanced jobs in the game, even COR is alot more balanced than some original jobs that are crying for help out there (like BST)
I will go back in time and murder Maat, capping all the gilsellers at Lv.50 forever. This is a brilliant idea and there's no conceivable way for it to come around and bite me on the ass.
You all can thank me later... or you can thank me earlier!

It'd be great if that was part of the plot. Someone goes back in time to assassinate Maat, and if you fail the mission to save him everyone in your party delevels to 50.Originally Posted by Almalexia

Incase nobody has seen it. Interview with Sundi
Well, that's another thing. We'll get to see (from the 1UP E3 interview with S-E):Originally Posted by Kaisha

For some reason this new expansion seems rushed, even though the other expansions were released within the same time frame, anyone else feel this way? It just feels like there are a lot of things unfinished and that there just rushing everything. Of course I love this new "past" experiance deal, I hope that will turn out as good as it looks, and new jobs are always cool, I hope they pick good ones.
PS. Fix BST.
I like this storyline so far and I like the idea that its gonna be almost entirely endgame as they stated. However I'm not pleased with the rushing... ToAU needed at least like a year or so before announcing a new expansion. Still haven't figured out everything in ToAU's added events. Still haven't finished the storyline in ToAU, still haven't even released the Colloseum yet, still figuring out the pit, etc.
The new jobs is what really breaks me though... we really don't need any. They stated themselves that there wouldn't be any jobs added that would be really good at anything since they already covered all the specialties. PUP/COR/BLU are all still pretty freakin un-finished too. I know they didn't mean for them to really specialize in anything or be revolutionary but seriously at least finish their basic components before announcing new ones... I swear SE is fishing for filler here.
I think it's because this time instead of suffering through CoP we got ToAU to enjoy ourselves with while they worked the next expansionOriginally Posted by SephirothYuyX
On the other hand, it's stated in the same sentence that they'll be continuing to tune the ToAU jobs even into WoG. Expansions don't mean jobs don't stop seeing improvements- DRK and SAM being examples. I expect we'll see significant changes throug 2007, and WoG.Originally Posted by Taj
And new monster types = new Blue Mage stuff as well.
New job speculation is one big "wut?" until later, anyway.

Clearly, this is what Sage Sundi desired.
FFXI - 5/02
RoZ - 4/03 (11 Months)
CoP - 9/04 (17 Months)
ToAU - 4/06 (19 Months)
WotG - 12/07 (20 Months)
So as long as these months are right (I suck at math and it's earlly) This was the longest time span btwn expansions, but it seems like the shortest (to me). Maybe because I took a 6 month break >.> That might be true too, Temp.
