Sea Obi Questions

Ok 2 questions about the Obi's from sea. Ive had all 8 for awile now. (yeah i was bored before and got em all when sea first released)
1) I know 1 of the patchs adjusted them, is their dmg still better? on the specific day of course...compared to a pent rope.
2) If you toss a certain one, say light obi. Would you be able to request the one you tosssed? or is it a 1time shot kinda deal.

They are definately better than a penitent's rope when used in the correct circumstances. Infact, they're better than my Sorcerer's Belt also, and worth carrying with you if you know you'll be out killing things when the correct day rolls around.

As for whether the quest is repeatable, I would assume so since the quest dialogue leads you to expect that there is some degree of science involved, and it's not science unless you can replicate your results.

I wouldn't trust this answer - easiest way to check (since you have all 8) is to see if you can reflag the obi half of that quest still.

or just throw away the obi you like the least and find out that way.

I tossed my light obi and was able to get another one, so it is repeatable.

I'm happy with Rairin and Hyorin, although I also have a Karin for Flare fun from before AM II was released.

I actually have 4/8 at the moment, and i'm debating going for the last 4, lol. Basically I've got them in this order so far Shue, Hyorin>Rairan>Korin>Dorin, for Ice>Thunder>Fire>Stone(Yea, I know...but Wind Ele's in Sky ><), and i'm debating doing Wind / Water, but I think i might for the 'set' sake. A BLM friend of mine got his Dark Obi, and loves the thing to pieces when we do Dynamis, as well as a WHM friend of mine uses the Light Obi in Temenos all the time.

Whats your opinion on getting the other 4? Do you feel it'd be overkill on item space? Or worth it for the increase in damage? (GoGo Double Lightning Thundersday @ Fafhogg)

I'd get the full set of obis if my BLM inventory wasn't stuck at 57/60

Why, oh why, can't SE let us take all our obis and meld them into one uber obi?

If they want to make it hard, make us trade 8 obis and 20 tissue or something all at once.

Ya, I think also in certain areas/conditions they weren't activating correctly. They weren't nerfed, just mended.

i have rairin/hyorin/anrin/lolkorin (1st one, got for my whm, but i havent touched it in over 6months lol) and i've been thinking about getting suirin and furin obi for flood II/tornado II... and still debating

There was some bug with the obis and earth weather on Mount Z if I remember corectly.
