Double OS help?

I'll have to buy a new computer in about a month or so, but all new computers seem to come with Windows Vista preinstalled nowadays. For the most part, I don't really care, except for two things - I've heard FFXI and Skype both have major problems running in Vista. Even after installing the Vista compatible POL client.

Is it possible to install XP alongside Vista, to bring up the option of which OS I want whenever the computer starts up? Or does XP have to be installed first? (If so, any sugestions on how to solve this?)

Yes you can have 2 OSs, they just need to be installed on different partitions/drives.

Would I have to install XP first, tho?

If so I'd need to uninstall Vista from the machine when I get it, get a copy of XP to install, then re-install Vista on top of that. I don't even know how to do something like that. XD

You don't have to uninstall any as long as you have two or more drives/partitions. Either can be installed first.
