Zing! Well, not really, but I just wanted to type zing.
In all seriousness, I didn't mean "bad experience" as in it was just being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe "bad memories" would've been a better word (or 2) to use? Or to make it simpler, I meant whenever they went to Alla they didn't have a pleasant experience. Happy? Don't get technical on me. I agree with you on the matter of adaman hauberks. DON'T MAKE ME JOIN THE OTHER SIDE.
Sorta-EDIT: Oh, dear. Don't tell me this is going to derail into what the game's about, just like in the Alla Pics thread. (Irony, huh?)
Lol, I suppose so. I like play jobs, but I hate exping them. Contradiction is the best word to explain me.Originally Posted by spooky

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BG AND ALLA:
Subject: Someone's friend in some linkshell has died.
BG: LOL, where's the corpse? Damn newbs forgetting to cast reraise these days
Alla: omg that's so sad ;_; i'm praying for her family
Subject: Absolute Virtue
BG: Well, we've tried Jailer Weapons, Ebon Panels, wynavs, and /sitting during Meteor. He's impossible to beat
Alla: You should try equipping Jailor Weapons on an Elvaan during Firesday because Elvaan are high in STR and STR is fire-based.
Subject: Meeting Again
BG: Goddamn idiots don't know how to /sea all friend
Alla: i cried at the end
Subject: Utsusemi is nerfed
BG: Congratulations, you've just destroyed endgame.
Alla: Yay, now my PUP can get invites! Take that, TP burns!
Subject: BST
BG: Cheerleader with a pet, gimps up merit parties
Alla: BST can be just as good as a WAR, they use all the same equipment!
Subject: Happy Friday
BG: Get that shit off these forums.
Alla: LOL, I got tricked!
You couldn't join the other side, because you know they're blue. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.Originally Posted by Sagacious Sundi

Expping is the prerequisite to the end game goal. You have to do it, but it's not the majority of the players focus. Aka this forum:
*And yes I understand that certain jobs like my BST is not designed for end game but that doesn't stop a group of BSTs from killing Jorm/Tia now does it? People will always try to see if they can get their jobs into an end game activity. I can remember when drks we're lol'd at on Siren for their usefulness.Order of the Blue Gartr

If it makes you happy, I was defending Pikko before she or sonomaa spoke. That doesn't change the fact you practically made up the parts of the interview you didn't like just so you could get a joke in. Pikko's interview has very little to do with how stupid their messageboards are. What cracks me up is how many people change their tone of Alla just because Pikko came here and stood up for her site.
I know you probably meant otherwise, and they probably won't implement anything like this, but be careful about wishing for something like this. RDM can magic burst too. I can totally imagine switching parties to include 2 RDM, then splitting into 2 groups and chain pulling mobs with a Fire MB or something ridiculous for KOs. it being the same old, since the aformentioned jobs also happen to gain TP faster than most due to the gear available to them vs most other jobs. It really isn't just a "fix all" solution, because each job has specific reasons why they aren't invitied, even if they all boil down to not being as effective as the "fab five". For instance, a change so that MBs do x2 damage or something would be great for BLM and maybe SMN/BLU/RDM, but what about everyone else? It's because of this that I don't see any drastic change for a long time, if it ever does happen, the type of stuff that led to current situations was very gradual.. There always seems to be some kind of bandwagon job no matter what happens, even if it would be pretty nice if everyone could be pretty much equal in a parse, that would involve a lot of new, GOOD gear (Ridill/BB equals for other jobs, yea right), JAs, adjustments, ect that I just don't see happening. (Max, er, Joetheplatypus had a pretty decent summary on most jobs, I dunno if it was in this thread) I hope I'm wrong though.Originally Posted by Angelsin
Oh, and if I didn't mention it earlier, that was the best alla interview I've ever seen, and a pretty good interview overall. I dunno why there was all the hate going for it before, but at least it's mellowed out now that the mods have whupping sticks ready.
And a lot of the people on this forum also have 100 or more merit points, so they understand that XP still is a big part of your life even when you reach level 75...Originally Posted by Angelsin
Just a side note, but what role/how much influence does Pikko have within Alla? Does she have enough influence to remove their RMT affiliation? Would she have enough influence among the alla regulars that she'd be able to draw the zammites away from the RMT-owned site and start her own?Originally Posted by BRP
This isn't a bash to Pikko or alla in particular, since the ownership is in name only and does not reflect upon the work Pikko and others have put into the site. However, it does bother me that it is RMT-owned, and I'd like to think that if someone could do something about it, they would.
It's more that Pikko (as far as I know) isn't the "stereotypical" "Zammite," and this all started with someone mocking Pikko's interview, without any good reason to. Think of it like a reverse "hating a nation's leader(s) but not all of its citzens."Originally Posted by kuronosan

And I don't doubt at all that many alla regulars would go over to pikko if she left alla to make her own site for some reason.
Exactly and I'm not wishing they change the way the game works. Having some jobs better than others is a characteristic of real life as far as I'm concerned. PLD may be a very useful job for end game but it's not my favorite job to merit with. And when my PLD does reach 75 I will only be lvling on it for a buffer and nothing more. My E Body Ridill WAR gets me a hell of a lot more merits in a TP burn with other WARs, MNKs, RNGs etc. I don't want them to change the current situation and highly doubt SE could change it.Originally Posted by Kenai
Once again, I continue to play this game for the end game activities more so than to exp. When I log on 99% of the time I'm with my LS killing some monster and not saying "You guys are camping Nid huh? Way to go guys! I don't feel like camping today so I'm off to exp. Good luck!" While this situation does happen in LS's from time to time, I would like to estimate that 90% of the ppl that are in HNM LS's are more involved in end game activities and are not ditching events to exp (over estimate?). Yes I understand that ppl on this forum exp still. I merit and am going to level another job or 2 once I get my merits to a more satisfying level. However, it should never be a question to be addressed to the makers of the game "Why doesn't my job get PT invites!! *whinning* Fix it now!" Rational questions regarding exp however like:Originally Posted by Septimus
"SE, you've made it easier to get to 75 and added exp bonuses for ToAU areas. With the increase in the amount of players reaching level 75 there are an increasing amount of over crowded exp areas and with each update you may add an area or three for exp purposes but they are still frequently crowded and have lead to shouting, fighting, and swearing from one player to another. What are you doing to try to satisfy the increasing demand of places to exp with the number of players leveling new jobs? Can something be done to the non-ToAU areas to attract more players to level in those areas like the exp bonus in the ToAU areas? Maybe make the exp bonus based on your countries position in Conquest?"
Sorry if this is a bit run-on but from what I've seen and experienced SE doesn't need to touch the level of exp mobs or touch current job characteristics or abilities. They need to add more places to exp whether it be TP burn, manaburn, or basic setup. Right now it's "I can kill faster than you so get out!" Only monsters that need to be changed are HNMs. All they are now are unchainable exp mobs.
What about the people who like to play PLD? Are they doomed to mediocre exp/merits (compared to this 20k/hr+) forever once they hit 75?Originally Posted by Angelsin
Gear up /NIN in DD gear and you can still pull your weight. Probably won't get 20k/hr, but I wouldn't complain about 15.Originally Posted by Avé
If they're not willing to do that, then yes, they are, and they deserve to be.
._. That was just an example. It's not just PLD, it's every job aside from NIN, MNK, WAR, BRD, RDM. >_> We've already gone over this at the beginning of the thread, or one of these E3 threads.
