Planning to switch servers?
Really nice gifts?
Guild turnins?![]()
Voting this one. We had a couple people do that on our server before bailing to another one.Originally Posted by Chaossamurai

Switchin servers
He could also just be taking a break from the game and investing in stuff that he thinks will maintain value or go up. I have a friend who did this and when he came back, he made some pretty nice gil.
A guy in my LS did this at the peak of inflation, bought 4 Astral Rings for something like 2m each. Came back and they were worth 2m total. Take care when investing this way.Originally Posted by suji
yeah.. ores 250k haubis 4mil - seems like the lower scale of serverprices - he can sell haubis 5mil and ores 400k elsewhere - then send another mule backmaybe 4mil gil for 25$ serverswitch price?
Seems better than the 50$ for 1mil you can rmt
He'd have to pay the switch price twice (one for coming and one for going)Originally Posted by Lyramion
But yea done properly and with enough bank you could probably "RMT" 10m or more.
Well as far as that goes - wasnt it said you can move an additional charactr if you contact a GM 1 week after?
So make a mule on the otehr server and load him with the goods - then let him be sent back to your server within the same migration fee.
Would be funny to see a GMs face when he is asked to move a level 1 char with 10 mil![]()
can only repeat the first migration for additional characters, can't "Cancel" a migration or otherwise send a toon backwards without waiting 90 days or having a second account, and paying $25 in both situations.
Nono... you have 2 mules:
- First mule is born on your home server. It brings goods to an expensive server and tries to sell them within a week.
- Second mule is born on the other server - the "additional character". Mule 1 sends the gil over to Mule 2. Mule 2 is moved by GM back to your original server.
As I said, the $25 is only good for a one-way transfer. Within a week you can petition to have additional characters moved in the same direction.
Quetz is currently the highest price server according to FFXIAH. I'd think you'd go to the lowest price server if buying low, selling high was your idea...
Actually, this same thing was happening before the option to switch servers were announced.
It's not on FFXIAH anymore, but some JPs were buying multiple pairs of Mahatma Slops (2-3 each). Never quite understood why.
You sure those were JPs? Gilsellers do that on our server, for their fleets of blms.
It's possible that it was RMT.
But, have RMTs been known to buy HQ items for themselves? I've always only seen them buy NQ stuff.
Yep, gil sellers bought a ton of my snow rings for their BLM army and then at least half of them got banned :DOriginally Posted by aurik
iirc, you can move each char on your acct to another server, so RMT could set up a rotation of say, 3 accts, thus allowing them to do a transfer every month. each account has a dozen or more chars and buys up the low cost products on their server before rotating to a new server. it would not surprise me if that same POLID were buying different items on different content ids and then shifting them between worlds. in doing so, they could do some potentially very profitable cross world arbitrage and make a significant chunk of money. even moving gil could be very effective if say, leviathan was out, but pandemonium was flush with it. moving 20-30M could net a difference in profit 5-10x as much as the 25 dollar worldshift fee. SE's definitely damaging (while not really stopping) gilsellers and where can often be as important to the profit of selling gil as how much.
