They seemed to be saying that they'll make some mobs harder, but they'd also be adjusting the current jobs. I doubt they'd just kill melee burns though; if they didn't completely kill manaburn, they wont kill this.
hmm...maybe (that WAS a while ago), but forget my experiences, what's wrong with it on the whole? Is it just because it's faster? Is it some sort of hiccup in the damage formula? Buffing merit mobs would just be devolving, and to be honest, SE could care less that only a few jobs are top tier in merit parties. If I'm gonna pretend in this thread that they do care about the other jobs getting slower exp, the right thing to do is to get SE to put the other jobs on the same level as ridill wars, and give more camps with flannish mobs for blms to merit on. Yea, but that suggests there is NO problem with 2H weapons, when there has to be for 1H to be so favored.
The problem with 2h weapons is circumstantial, not an inherent real problem with the handedness.
There aren't GAxes that can even come close to a combo of Maneater+Jugg or Maneater+Ridill as far as stat bonuses. There is no Gaxe WS nearly as good for spamming as rampage.
DRK, DRG, SAM (ot MNK for that matter) cannot get the survivability of /NIN and get Zerk+Double Attack at the same time. Their weapon choices also are pitiful by comparison to WAR and MNK. See if you can get a WAR or MNK to use a weapon whose damage/delay is good and the stat bonuses are str+2 vit+2 add effect: impairs evasion, they would laugh. DRG and SAM's spammable WSes aren't as good either (guillo is great though.)
THF was underpowered until DMG got upped (among other buffs.)
DRK, DRG, THF can't use haidate. MNK gets Black Belt.

The fact that DRG has no good spammable WS (Penta is OK but really needs /WAR to be effective) and no big spike WS for endgame is why it's considered lolDRG really.
I think SE's going to overhaul the entire battle system by the time wings is ready, it just seems like they have to in order to make these new jobs work from whats being said in these interviews with development team.
Have you thought about implementing a runic portal multi-pass?
The reason we will not do this, is because when the Astral Candescence is taken by the beastmen you cannot get a pass to use the runic portal. And so if you get 5 of them, and then the Astral Candescence is taken, you would still be able to use them which is something you are not supposed to be able to do. We don't want people hoarding these passes.
Oh this is such BS. if they really dont want us using runic portals when the AC is missing then all they need to do is add this message...

boom, problem sovled. you can still have a crap load of passes but they just cant be used at that time.

pup has dragonkick but howling fist probally pumps out more consistant dmg when statistically speaking it shouldnt.
