When I bitch about getting haste its because I notice everyone but me getting haste. Its more of a 'you know DRK wouldnt suck so bad if people actually hasted us' type thing. Or we're in Dyna-Xarc where a constant 50% slow that can be overwritten by haste means that yes, haste IS the difference between life and death.

Re: FFXIclopedia interview with Development Team at E3

jeez, does anybody remember 'NERF MANABURN' whining of a few years ago?

mnks declared a war on blms over KRT.

Not to mention when people would insist on pulling stuff that's IT++ and you had to talk them into pulling VTs...

The only problem with merit is, everyone wants their merits instantly. not 20k/hr, BAD. Most people posting such nonsense on popular forums (hello, Alla!) don't actually spend any time playing the damn game ... at least it feels that way. Random, pick up tp burns suck as much as random, pick up manaburns, and as much as the random, pick up sc+mb parties did.

Anyway, while MBing stuff is just pure giggly joy, I wouldn't trade a manaburn for a sc+mb party at 75. manaburns are just faster. Hell, soloing is roughly the same xp (5k/hr, i'd say, if I try for it. Although internet forums always produce scores of people who go faster. Valefor must have some shitty mages..)

SE did add more xp camps...they didn't take any away. Going back to pre-toau when every toau camp is overcrowded will produce better xp.
    It just won't be 20k/hr.

people won't be happy until every possible party set up, from bst duo to perfect tp burn, produces that magical, forum-induced, 20k/hr.

People don't need that aquilla, people need the ability to actually get to merit with their favorite job.

I always haste 2H weapons first out of any melee, except the tank. -.-

And I keep my PT and usually the other melee PT in my alliance hasted in Dynamis as well. ._.

Not all WHMs suck. Just most are lazy and think their only purpose in life is to Raise people. I've yelled at the other WHMs in our Dynamis shell I don't know how many times... Raise AFTER we're done fighting the 17 demons on top of us, please. It's better to keep people alive than raise the dead (with a few exceptions with some certain people you want to get unweakened asap).

I just get so annoyed when like.. say... a sleepga goes off and everyone starts spamming 'zzzzzzzzzzzz' at me. YES I KNOW YOU ARE ASLEEP. SO AM I. Don't you think I would have done something by now if I weren't. Have you not been playing with my WHM long enough to know I notice this shit? Stop spamming 'para' and 'blinded' and 'slowed' and 'need viruna (no you fucking don't, wtf do you care if you have no hMP/hHP)'/'erase.' Or my favorite... "haste" while I am... at that very moment... casting Haste on them. Gaaaaaaaaaah!

Sometimes I just wish we could PVP so I could club everyone over the head.

Very nice post and a ^.^m for the person doing the interview. Very good questions, and by far the best from E3. I had a good laugh about AV.

I usually dont do that crap. Please dont club me!
actually i do ask for em alot of the time due to the fact that most whm that I dont know personally are so retarded they dont do any of those spells you mentioned unless asked. I usually just dont say anything at first but they then get bitchy about me not having a macro to tell them "ZOMG that WS that the monster spams has silenced/slowed me and after all these levels you still dont fucking know to just cast haste/silence!"

    Perfect response.

In a TP burn party, I haste everyone. It's just that since I'm a WHM and can't refresh myself I sometimes need to prioritize curing over hasting you!

    Sundi: wut?
    SE: ps2 limitations.
Us: WTF DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH PS2?!
SE: You see, pie squared divided by three-fourths of a insoles triangle plus eight-tenths of a rectangle devided by 0 prevents us from doing anything that makes sense. It's simple math really.

No, its Nvidia users only with the bard songs and firaga. If you lag during somethign else, your computer just sucks.

That one bolded line is the problem. Skillchains were the link between melee and mage- when it became a moot point to use them, the game promptly became "manaburn" or "TPburn" for merits. Blah to that.

The best results should come from a balanced PT, IMHO. If you can get a PT together that can SC and MB worth a damn, it should give more rewards than a PT of five random meleers spamming WS'es and an overworked RDM, or the same RDM with 5 BLM's tossing AM's and Tier IV magic.

SC and MB works well on anything that can outlive the 2 WS long enough for the SC and MB to matter.

But frankly, on most decent merit party, 2 WS is more than enough to blast the mob to the ~30% or lower HP where it's not worth wasting MP for.

Not to mention that there pretty much is no decent reward from creating SC to bother holding TP for.

Maybe if all SC has 100% ACC and give higher multiplier on MB, it'd actually help kill the mob faster, but as it stands right now, you're holding back anywhere from 30% or higher TP for an SC that probably will get resisted more often than not, and MB that only inceased in potency by like 10-30%.

I'd rather just spam my TP for my best WS.

Oh and 5 melee + 1 RDM party doesn't deserve to get decent exp anyway.

Most of the best meleeburn parties are fairly balanced, consisting of 3 melee and 3 mages.

Even most 4 DD + RDM + BRD party sucks due to less stability on the occassion where a lot of mobs are pulled or fighting mobs with high damage WS...or just the fact that they push BRD and RDM too much.

My best meleeburn merit parties has either BRD + WHM + RDM or RDM + 2 BRD backline, and that doesn't overwork the RDM or the BRD.

    /nod

Thats a good point of reasoning, I didnt think about that at first, SC/MB really was the reason you had atleast two melee and a blm, with that you would need a tank, and would also need a healer and/or refresher. It's the "perfect" setup.

But untill SE can make it so that type of PT can perform as well as or better than a TP burn, no one will do it. Even if the XP rate of a standard pt vs TP burn pt were close, or the standard yeilded a bit more XP, people would still choose a TP burn to join as it's a lot less effort to be in.

SE would have to have some sort of thing that when a tank, 2 melee and a blm were in a pt, you would get a huge xp bonus, or that if a MB went off there would be an XP bonus with that.

But I dunno, that seems a bit farfetched, and I doubt they really will change anything, unless these new jobs incorporate some sort of superdeduperness when in a "standard" pt, nothing would change.

    I dunno.
