Let me put it this way. A WAR/NIN Dual Wielding Tabarzins and no Suppanomimi, with the same ATK and fSTR as a Triton's Scythe wielding DRK, has a DPS advantage of over 14% before you factor DA, Offhand multi-hit weapons, Haste bonuses, etc.
With this comparison your also forgeting absorb TP, and the DRK should have DA as well since your drk seems to be sjing war.

However for drk I would personally SJ nin and dual wield axes. Then it would come down to whos skill and gear is better than one another.

In registry settings? It's currently at 0.

I had to reinstall my inferior ATI 9600 XT over the top of my 6600 GT just to stop the lag (yea they're both not great, but the 6600 is better than the ATI) because the bard lag was too much to handle.

Yea I've noticed the only thing to really f--k my PC up is Firaga III, and only on 4+ Targets, BRD songs don't really lag till it's an event with tons of people, or a big NM.

The fStr adjustment for 2h weapon calculation could probably be done to make up that gap.

Generally 2h Weapon skills are nice, but you have to focus/rely on them to try and even the DoT loss out.

Personally, I think it'll take a bit of both. The SC/MB system was the core of the combat system, and seeing it reduced to WS spam/manaburn tactics is ripping any level of co-ordination out of the fighting and leaving most exp PT's as a dick-waving contest to see who can put out the superior e-peen.

Skillchains and MB's should reward the users, period. TPBurn is quick, but rewards simple play above complex play.

A monster that actually takes enough time to debuff, WS, MB, and destroy should be worth more than a fucking bird that 75% of the time does nothing more harmful than eat your non-existant food or erase your 10% TP after you Rampaged it for the 168th time in your chain #200. Likewise, expanding the use of WS'es beyond "Gee, let's do Distortion/whatever does the most damage".

Re: FFXIclopedia interview with Development Team at E3

Absolute Virtue is now believed to be completely invincible. No methods have been discovered on how to defeat him, with the majority of the end-game community from North America, Japan and Europe at a complete loss as to what to try. Some minor information about his Regen was released, but it appears that he has been modified without any announcements. How can we defeat him? We've had over a year without learning his secret, it is about time some real information is released. Are there any more tips you can give us about this NM?

We cannot give you any other tips besides if you kill the monsters around him, it will slow the regen ability.
Is anyone else bothered by the blatant contradiction between this and their previous "hint" about killing as many of JoL's summons as possible, or is everyone so desensitized by SE's bullshit answers at this point that they just don't care? Now it sounds like they're either referring to killing the Aerns in AV's spawn area (there's no way they'd have us kill every Aern in Sea), or AV's Wynavs, which has already been tried numerous times with no success.

I completely agree! Having both a 75BRD&75RDM, I've has my fair share of TP burns. And sometimes it's fun to run around like a maniac tarutaru hyped up on mountain dew, trying to chain 24,020 mobs while a bunch of melees whack stuff to death trying to out-do one another. But at the same time, it would be nice to have the option of fighting fewer number of much tougher mobs... mobs that take a while to defeat, that i could debuff on rdm... and get a lot more xp per kill to make it worth ditching the burn to mix it up and have some fun old school style. i'm all for that!

Kill the other jailers in sea around him?

I remember that idea being posted once, either way it's starting to seem to me like "we cannot give you more answers about this monster because the guy who made it was a jerk and quit without telling us how to beat him... sorry!"

Why is no one complaining on SMN's behalf? They get completely shafted from merit parties..

    Adding onto this:

WHM can play the exact same role as a RDM in a TP burn party at Colibri or Mamool Ja, etc. The MP looks like less but with Sanction Refresh, a Refresh body piece, and either SMN sub for Auto-Refresh or BLM sub for Conserve MP, they essentially get a free Refresh spell on them at all times. Everyone overlooks it though.

So to fix what spooky said:
Because there are other jobs in the game besides: NIN MNK WAR RDM BRD WHM... (Yes I left out COR, I've tried it in merit parties and they aren't very hot from my experiences. They could use some better rolls or more enhanced rolls, it's nothing like a BRD. Also, if you're fighting something pierced, DRG RNG SAM/RNG and THF are all very wonderful DDs.)

I thought the dev team beat every single thing in the game with 18 people max. (Minus instances like Dynamis).

I don't think killing AV would have anything to do with killing other jailers.

I remember an interview from way back where people asked if the dev team actually did beat AV, and their answer was a whole hearted "no" but I'm unsure how far back this information goes...

Well I guess I'll leave the dev team with these two words about AV

lack of convert, fact that C enfeebling still fails for silencing mamool (which is still relevant), and that many redmages have sanction refresh + blm sub + possibly 1 or 2 gear refresh too on top of it at this point..

redmage is still ahead a good 2-3mp/tick *and* has convert to fall back on.

can whitemage do it? yeah. is it like putting in a sam instead of a war? yes.

easiest way to make summoner and whitemage attractive healers for meripo? level cap of 80. there's other ways too, but I like me some sensationalism!
