    Re: LBC Strategy recap

Argh, ran out of time tonight after winning last week, lol.
Not sure where we are losing time, we go like 30 min on first floor, 10-15 on 2nd, then I think another 10-15 on 3rd maybe more, 4th we do gears takes 10-15 min, got to LBC with like just under 20 minutes. Time management seems to be our only issue. Tonight we had THF (Mandau) BLM 2 RDM 2 WHM NIN 2 WAR (1 Ridill) BRD. Any tips on how we can speed up a bit? Also wasted some time tonight because we had very bad luck on getting MP cells :/. We have really no issues with killing LBC, we just end up timing out when its low, got it to 9% tonight.

2F Wamouras seem to be pretty kind dropping MP cells. You might want to try shaving some time from the first floor by stopping killing Wamouracampas once your tanks get kitted out- You'll get more armor cells on 2F, and if you're in the area of ~12 people, you should get enough.

Wamouramcampa are so easy to kill tho. Take like 20sec each, and 3min for 40 pieces of gears. The one on 2nd floor are much harder to kill, and there isnt that many monsters in the small room in case you get jewed on one kind of gears.

Well yes, but the point is if you have the tanks set on armor (maybe 3 total people? 2 main + 1 backup) there's really no need to be grinding through the wamouracampa in the large room with the troll and 2x bifrons that usually requires kiting or some other form of crowd control. You'll also probably get additional armor cells while going after other celltypes; It's simply one timesink that can be avoided, and worked well for us.

That being said, your mileage may vary.

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

I agree with Strom. We usually kill bifrons first then go get wamoura magic and then kill trolls/wamouracampa until we get the MNKs decked out in a good bit of gear. The whole first floor farming takes maybe 25-30 min. Second floor we kill puddings which always maxes out our magic users and then we kill a few more trolls/wamoura for more equip for mages. Second floor takes maybe 10-15 min tops. Third floor I just run to the portal while they kill random trolls. By the time I reach the portal everyone is geared up and we have some stat cells too. Just gotta get lucky on which stats we receive. Takes like 10 min tops. We kill the gears but man did that take a while... I dunno how you all did it in 10-15 min we always end up with like 2 of them making out so we have to wait until they seperate. Took us a little more than 30 min on our last try. 9-manned the boss and burned him down with 3 min to spare for some Freyr's and a lolBodbCrown.

1st floor: Kill 3 bomb ---> wamoura --> path back and clear the whole wamouramcampa room (kill the remaining wamoura after mad bomber if it was up).
4 pudding --> south/east side and clear the scorpion for stats cell while someone run up. We are usually done after that with cell farming.

In the rare case we need additional mp or subjob, we will kill a few pudding on next floor (happened once) while someone zone up. Everyone should have hp/stats cell by the time scorp room is cleared, and be completely geared from wamoura in last room.

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

We do it a bit differently... perhaps inefficiently. Due to the two incus in the starter chest, we hand those off to our supplemental melee (usually thf + whatever misc. DD is present) and let monks get weapon cells as they come. We then clear straight through, starting with the bombs in each room, we usually have enough armor to skip the large room's wamouracampas outright. I'll clock it next time to see where we stack up with other runs to see how much time we spend with respect to the 25 minute spec of other groups.

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

Doing first 5 wamoura is a waste imo, because they take a while to kill without JA/magic (if you are going with 6 people and your mnk already have weapon/ja, then go for it I guess). Dont think it really matter in the end since the only thing you will be missing is 5 bee or chigoe >_>

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

Getting gear on the second floor is quite stupid, imo. That means you have to get stats on 3F, and the puddings are a lot tougher than 2F Scorpions. Also, 2F Wamouras are much tougher than 1F Wamouracampas. I don't see the logic in it.

You say you might need to kite a bunch of the Wamouracampa in the big room on 1F... I don't see why. I give BLMs and BRD magic within the first 4-5 (RDM, BRD, BLM x1 or 2 depending on first chest, then WHM), so we have 2 forms of Sleepga. I usually pull first on MNK, Bard Horde Lullabies any over 1, and they sleep like babies. We aren't usually dealing with many links anyway because there's always 1 or 2 that are away from the orgy. Everyone just follows me to that one and punches it.

The only thing my group seems to do inefficiently (by my own fault) is kill all the gears/trolls up to the Wamoura room, and then path back after. We usually clear the whole floor because we have ~11 people. The whole thing takes about 35 minutes. On 2F we kill the 4 Puddings, 1 room of Scorpion/Troll on Southeast, and port up right after that. Like Kaylia, if we are missing anything vital, our BLMs kill 2-3 flan on 3F to make up for it. 2F takes 15? minutes, and 3F 7-8min, I consider 10 to be safe. That puts us at about 40 minutes left, and I know our last 2 runs we had about 45-48 left upon reaching 4F.

4F gears sometimes piss me off, since they always seem to follow each other so closely. Ironically, I find the 3 gear rooms much easier to pull from (are they bigger?). The 2 gear rooms are the ones with the pathing idiocy. Anyway, the floor can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 30-35 on bad days. We always get at least one Revilitizer, often 2-3, to make up for it. Having Soul Voice on the entire battle is quite nice (3rd Rev to BRD), and Hundred Fists x4 is also very fun (1st/2nd to MNKs). Our boss times of the 4 times we've killed him so far have been about...

7min - Marduk Hands, Freya Feet
9min - Marduk Hands, Freya Feet <- seriously wtf.
6min - Ares Head, Ares Body
8min - Ares Body, Ares Body <- again, wtf...

I want to speed my times up a little bit and cut some corners so we have time for Peryton.

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

We don't focus on getting equipment on the second floor, it just comes with the mp cells the wamoura drop (we take the west path on 2F). Killing all the wamoura prior to the large room worked fine for us to get everyone equipped. It may well be worth it to revise the 1F strategy to do the full bomb/wamoura/troll > backtrack route to shave some time from 1F; however, what I was getting at was due to the incidental armor drops on 2F while aiming at other cells, the need for farming armor on 1F can be reduced.

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

Hmmm thanks for some of the info, we've been doing Bifrons>Wamoura>Wamouracampa while killing all trolls on the way on first floor while sending someone to porter, then SE room scorps on 2nd floor after clearing pudding for magic users sending someone to porter, 3rd floor we kill some puddings to finish out HP/MP while someone waits at porter and 4th we go after the gears. Guess last night we just wasted time on 3rd floor because we had like only 2 Max MP and 2 Max HP prior to entering that floor. Bad luck with cells is all I guess ;/.

That's the route we take. On good runs where we need nothing from 3F we usually have ~10min left at least, but on bad runs we are cutting it close. Of course the randomness of 4F gears doesn't help either.

Guys wikipedia say it's a good idea to Manaburn/kite LBC But my question is ..... How can BLMs not die even with /NIN if LBC Hit a PLD for 240+ with normal attacks?

With enough blms trading hate, they shouldn't ever get hit. When they are kiting (actually physically running from LBC), they can macro in a earth staff and cheviot cape. Also eating tacos to increase defense.

However, with the recently discovered method of weakening LBC, I don't bother manaburning anymore because it requires too many people unless everyone has Gaiters.

With Gaiters, it should only be able to swing at you when you're at the end of the room and turning around. And even then sometimes you can use the columns so that it screws up pathing and it doesn't even swing once at you. I usually just cast Ni about once a lap, and besides lucky TP moves, I rarely get hit. But tbh, RNG > BLM by a huge margin for this. Also a lot more RNGs have Striders/Red Legs/Skadi than BLMs have gaiters. And a couple shadowbinds is a good way to recover from a bad Homing Missile.

You really should take wiki's strat with a grain of salt.

Read this thread and you should have a comfortable strat for beating LBC with 8 or less. Imo, using blms requires too much variables, too much sacrifice on the way up, and gaiters. It's better to have a solid setup, and you can perhaps even take NM or so on the way up.
