Lost hate to a Missile? or just lost hate? lol
If your BLM are nuking that much to pull hate at 58% tell them to calm the hell down, its not DL lol.
I really don't find BLM to be very effective for Chariots at all. We bring 1-2 max and even then I'd only prefer 1. If you do bring BLM, they should be subbing WHM and helping out with erase/paralyna and cures for the most part of the fight. At 25% they can start going all out with ES nukes and such, stick with Ice nukes also.

Did you guys end up wiping at 58% or what? If wiping at 58% you have more problems than BLMs overnuking and dying.

Tank pt we use for LBC is NIN/WAR WAR/NIN RDM WHM BRD, going to try adding a COR soon enough to help with MP and also Ice/Earth shots. Yes I know MNK/NIN would be better than WAR/NIN but WAR/NIN works.

Make sure you bring a solid tank pt with excellent support mages that are quick on paralyna and erase. If your mages are waiting for the "is paralyzed" message before casting paralyna then they are too slow. They should be casting paralyna as the chariot readies discharge message appears and they should be casting erase as the readies inertia stream message appears in log. Tank/DD party is the keystone of winning the fight. If you can tank and DD efficiently the rest is np. We usually assign a /WHM to one person for status removal, that way each DD can be healed efficiently and quickly. If MP runs low pull back a DD or 2 and recover. Another keypoint is keeping enfeebles on at all times, Slow II lv3/Para II lv2 is what I have merited on RDM and they both help greatly. Keeping Elegy on is also important.

All enfeebles work except gravity and bind I believe, so everything helps. If I can I try to keep Poison II on as well, and Dia II helps bring the chariot down quicker as well.

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

Salvage is all about doing more with less. That's why MNK/NIN is so powerfull, it's quite simply the best possible DD+tank hybrid. No other job excels at both dealing and taking damage efficiently like MNK/NIN does. WAR/NIN and NIN/WAR make decent alternatives, but each has it's deficiencies. I'm guessing your PLD lost hate because he wasnt dealing enough (read any) damage over time.

For an un-nerfed LBC we employ a "dekoy" tank. We typically use a RDM/NIN, but pretty much any job /NIN with decent survivability works (THF, WAR, NIN, PLD, etc). Have your entire support line in range of HM at all times (between 10 and 15 units from the chariot is good). Besically the dekoy will build very light hate and stand well out of HM range. If your positioning is correct then everyone but the dekoy will have their hate reset in the advent of HM (still try and avoid it if possible). The dekoy only needs to tank a few attack rounds before the MNKs pull it back (1 Asuran Fists should be enough). Once the MNKs have re-established hate everyone must reposition quickly (note having someone to Erase the dekoy is cluth).

It's extremely important to realize that proper positioning is the key to all four of the zone bosses. It comes with experience and practice, but once people know what to expect these encounters become fairly elementary. If you're still having trouble with LBC I'd highly recomend you perfect the forth floor RR. A nerfed LBC is quite simply a fucking joke.

Oh and BTW Sedi, I think you're crazy doing LBC with only 1 WHM in the tank PT! Definitely one WHM per main DD/tank minimum just to be safe.

lol, we have 2 WHM just one in each pt or sometimes both in tank party, depends on what the 2nd party is.
2 WHM is kinda a must though no matter what party they are in lol, and yeah Sady is correct on MNK/NIN being the most efficient DD tank for chariots. NIN/WAR tanks well but lacks counter, WAR/NIN gets tooled when it gets hate usually lol. I'd like some more MNKs, but we manage with what we got.

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

Looking at giving LBC a shot next week and I was wondering if I could get some advice on tanks.

Available to us we have NIN/BLM MNK/NIN MNK/RNG/WAR PLD/WHM MNK/BLM/RDM (jobs on either side of the backslash is that person's other available second job.)

I am the NIN/BLM at the beginning, but I would consider myself our best stunner, for reference of which job might be best for me to pick.

Would it be wise to use a DD NIN and a PLD/NIN? 2 MNK/NINs? My worry is getting hate back if a Homing Missle gets off, and if you use Provoke to get hate back, will a MNK be able to bounce hate with you any more as a NIN or will you be tanking 100% from there on out? (Why the WHM coming PLD came to me).

Any advice would be very appreciated.

Overall setup most likely will be

    Tank (Either MNK or NIN)
    Tank (MNK most likely)
    WHM
    WHM
    BRD
    RDM

    BLM
    BLM (Me as BLM)
    BLM (MNK/RDM/BLM as BLM)
    BLU or DRG
THF BLU or WAR (possibly a WHM if another doesn't show, but Galka
    RDM

Thanks for the help in advance^^

    Also, a question to Sady;

If you have everyone in range of HM, do they not get hammered as well as losing their hate?

Everyone will lose hate, assuming there is no partial nerf. However, mage need to cure people after homing, and they will usually end up pulling hate from it.

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

If you're hit by Homing Missile (assuming no nerf) it means you got the total hate reset as well. Unfortunately you really need cure bombs right after a missile to compensate for the fact that everyone has around 100 HP.

It looks like you have far more than enough people of the right jobs to do LBC though. You even have enough to instate a possible outside tank. Keep that tank away from HM range but have them build hate close to that of the main tanks while the fight is normal. When missile goes off they should be able to keep hate very easily from the mages while the main tanks regain hate.

As far as the tank we're using, though. MNK/NIN would be the best tank? I assume something like NIN/WAR for the outside tank to be able to build a little hate from range.

NIN/WAR works fine, just MNK/NIN is better because it has alot better dps.

A support mage without HP unlocked and with stoneskin up will take essentially zero damage from unnerfed HM. Again the key is positioning. HM can NOT kill you (unless you have +% magic damage equips) and its easy to be in range of HM but out of range of other AoEs so your support line should never be at risk (the only exception being BRDs because they have to move around and shit).

    I've got 2 questions that have come up recently for my salvage static regarding this mob;

    1. What songs do people normally sing the monk tanks when fighting LBC?

    2. To any monk that has tanked this; do you normally go attack food, sushi, or defense food, and do you tank him with counterstance up or no?

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

    1. March x2 or Minuet/March usually
    2. Not a MNK but I know ours use meat build and counterstance is the bane of existence if you fight LBC...

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

I know that Troubadour + Elemental Seal + Carnage Elegy is extremely powerful - but can anyone give a little more detail on it?

    With Horn +1, it'd be 52% Slow for 7 minutes 12 seconds?

How much +Wind Skill would be needed to reliably land Elegy on a Chariot (without ES). How would Soul Voice effect this?

Finally, what would be the best use of COR (Earth Shot/Ice Shot) with a RDM (Slow II, Paralyze II) and a BRD (Elegy)?

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

I would probably say using him for ice shot would be best, just because paralyze seems to kick in a whole lot on this mob. Extra slow might be good, but an unlucky delay recharge timed after a tp move can still kick your tank's ass. I'm still not sure though, since with earth shot it's an extra slow that you can see while on paralyze its random procs

Our BRD lands Elegy no problem on LBC, don't need ES, BRD/WHM is what u would want to have.

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

Beat the chariot with this setup 2 days ago

    PT1
    Nin/war
    Mnk/nin
    Cor/0whm
    Rdm/whm
    Whm/0smn
    Smn/whm

    PT2
    blm/nin
    blm/0whm
    mnk/war
    drk/war

10men kill isn't that impressive, but I was seriously not expecting to beat a non nerfed chariot without BRD. Took us about 20min, which is slow I guess. Anyway, just glad to see it's easily doable with stupid setup >_>

    Re: LBC Strategy recap

so a mnk counterstancing is a bad idea?
we tried LBC and wiped at 40% yesterday
the reason was our mages ran out of mp cure burning the 2 mnk/nins + melees
i told them not to use counterstance and both had body boost but it was one mnk doing the tanking pretty much until one homing missile landed
I think we had too much ppl atking him as we had 3x mnks and a blu casting
for healing, we had 2x whm, 1x rdm, 1x brd and 2x blm
I felt LBC was attacking too fast to even keep shadows up in the fight, not sure if rdm was able to land para/slow, they do not have tier 2
I was thinking maybe gimping HM is better for my group in the end
