So I'm leveling up NIN on my second character so as not to be a gimp BRD. Any opinions on what BCs have the best drop rates for Utsusemi: Ni? (As well as other shiny things to sell for profit.)

This thread came up a month or two ago.
Royal Jelly is usually the winner.
I used to go 1/3 typically on steamed sprouts (which is easy as hell on bard: you + 2 healers + any 3 DD) but I don't think it really drops much *besides* ni anymore (it was better when erase was worth something)
I'd almost say just do under observation, but I suspect there's a better BC to do if you're actually targeting :ni.
Steamed sprouts
I do know that after spamming U/O with my friends getting PCCs for ourselves...we got Utsu:Ni to dorp 1/14.
3/14 for PCC though o_O
steamed sprouts works but it's a 6 man which takes more effort to get people (and more times cause omg we all want drops)
i remember this bc was how i made money to get to 75 lol
I've never done steamed sprouts, but it's pretty common from royal jelly, somewhere close to a 1/3 drop rate. It's much rarer from under observation, more like 1/6-1/10 from there in my experience.
Pretty much any BCNM40. Ones with less people are usually easier to organize.
I'm something ridiculous on royal jelly, like 0/12 for Ni and rings. I used to spam steamed sprouts as bard when erase was worth money, fairly decent drop rate. The bc40 rabbit fight was also a pretty good source of Ni. I can't remember but the bc40 skeleton fight in fei'yin I *think* dropped it, but it's been so long since I've done that.
One I usually spam is Worms turn. Always get atleast 2 out of a 6 runs, which really Isn't too bad. Have done the other BCs for Ni and maybe just luck for me that I have gotten the Most Ni's from Worms turn. I think one time me and friends went 6/6 for Ni which was fucking nice :D
Under Observation was usually pretty good for me. Never got a PCC, but I've seen 2x Utsu: Ni in one run.
i'd go with worms turn since its just such a joke to do
prolly all 6 man have same drop rate while 3 man have lower? idk lol if its easier to spam then thats probably your best bet
I personally got a double Ni drop + Charm at Under Observation a week or so ago. Took a screenshot, will post when I can get to the comp that has it.
We also got a third scroll of Ni on the same orb set.
UO, the fact that there's a chance to get PCC makes it worthwhile.
And it only takes 3 people, and like 2 mins depending on your setup.
I've gotten a decent rate for :Ni on UO, It might not be the best if you're going specifically for :Ni, but If you're going to spend 40 seals, you're gonna spend 40 seals. Might as well go for the gold.
Birds of a Feather
2 BST Lv.30 with some decent CHR gear and CHR food can win this easily. Rate on Ni is decent to low, but easiest BCNM by far considering amount of people needed and duration of fight. Also, bring a jug pet or two to be safe.
Tried that recently myself, fights easy enough but I went 0/3 on ni (3/3 on lolErase though). I suspect the drop rate is not very good there.Originally Posted by Amele
we would typically do 6 and get 2, so it's possible that you just got the short end of the stick on random variance. (assuming for a minute that my results are actually the exact drop rate: 28%(1/4) of the time, you would not get any utsusemi:ni's doing only 3 runs.Originally Posted by Kimiko
I'm pretty confident about the rate, unless SE ninja'd it, because we did easily 30+ orbs in my social when we first all hit 40 and *everyone* needed either erase or utsusemi:ni eventually.
3 man ones are by far the easiest to just take an hour and go do..
The easy ones I have done are..
Royal Jelly: NI and possible archers > Sniper +1 tries
Under Observation: Bonus possible PCC
Citing my experiences, anything but U/O. I've done like twenty runs or something and haven't even seen one drop in mine or anyone elses. I'd throw my vote at Royal Jelly, it's easy and it has a pretty good drop rate.
