If you could approach AV with 6 people on a daily basis for the low, low price of 1500AP, I suspect the community would be more interested in these AV theories.Originally Posted by TB

That's true. You usually have people in your LS that D2 right away when AV pops, not even wanting to try something, because this time I have to agree 100% with the people from SE @ the interview.Originally Posted by Almalexia

Meh, in defense of the OP, it's something I never thought about before, and something we could try next fight. The fact that AV used to "break" and stop casting spell/2h make me think there is something coded in its script that might force it to stop casting spells and uses abilities..we were just not activating that part correctly. Could have been real bugs, but I find strange AV would be the only one to glitch like this if it was using a more conventional battle script.
15 jobs & 15 yovra is a nice coincidence...probably mean nothing, but it worth a shot. Gonna send a blm squad next time to take a few down while we hold it with smn lv1.
What I would like to try the most however is a massive zerg on CFH + Feint + zerg. It's probably possible to take AV down really fast with over 3-4 alliances zerging at the same time, and it's far from impossible his behavior change when he is low hp (hell, he might even reraise if he dies on CFH). I believe it would the easiest way to learn something new about AV..just need to gather enough people for the zerg
If people are going to actually take this seriously, then it should be worth pointing out that AV was released months before northern Al'taieu was opened, and so there were far less than 15 yovra back then, just 6-7 or whatever there is in the southern half.
Oh dear, and the morning was gonig so well too.
They are bunch of faggots that has no idea what they speak about, and I'm surprised whoever did that interview didn't just burst into rage and choke whoever come up with that answer. You may want to bash them right away and say "SE has no idea what they speak about", but you have to admit it is pretty sad that no one tries stuff anymore.
Because I honestly would and I'm pretty sure a good amount of anyone who has come into contact with AV would too.
Yeah. I know it was since we thought it would pop in "north" section for a while when we were trying to discover new NM. Either way, it still worth a shot considering it might have been changed later, when they nerfed JoL 6 months later (or 3 month...forgot).Originally Posted by Suiram
I believe AV can be killed the same way goblin drink could be obtained before the "annoucement". SE would have nerfed it by now considering they nerfed everything else if it was meant to be fought the way we are...I think
am I the only one who thinks killing 15 yovra while holding a mob is completely unrealistic? you would need a massive amount of people moving at an incredible pace... theres 2 Ul'yovra which are 60min pops.... then theres 13 Om'yovra which are 30min... that would mean you have to find and kill all 15 (just going to include the Ul for 30min) in under 30min, giving you 2minutes for each.
i'm all for trying new strats and finding what AV's weakness is.... but even though many people have tried many things, i still think the solution is relatively simple. i think killing random aern with different jobs is more realistic
Genius, this is correct.Originally Posted by Taj

I know the real way to kill AV!
just have 200 level 75 ninja's use mijin on it!
(Hey wait that might work, but I just wanted to come on here and say something dumb (._.)
Everybody's looking into this way too much. All the most powerful weapons and spells cannot defeat him... The solution is far more simple.
While fighting AV, use the "Pray" command, and that will summon the thoughts & prayers of the players all throughout Vana'diel. With all the collective power of the world's prayers, AV's health will periodically diminish until he is defeated... or at such low hp that you can finish him off with one bottle rocket.
I am pretty sure this is 100% correct. Everyone knows AV is impossible to kill with 2hours. Even SE does know that (bash them as much as you want, they made this game so you can be sure they know the basics.....). the locking is needed to win this fight. It was just triggered the way it wasn't intended to be.Originally Posted by Kaylia
2 HNM LS on Odin are going to a new theory, depending on whoever pops AV first. Maybe the hint of killing Aerns around AV wasn't that bad at all, but I'm sure there has to be more behind it to lock AV's other abilities as well, since they only mention Regen. We are going to try some other ideas.
(Oh and it's gonna be something that can be done with 18 people btw...)
I have my doubts that they beat him with just 18, given the hints they provided. An Alliance of 18 prolly beat him, but how many outside groups were supporting and/or killing off the suspected special mobs connected to AV? It's like, sure, we kill Kirin the old way with 18...plus another 12 along to swap out casualties, outside heal, summons party etc. etc. but a alliance of 18 ftw!
Yes, I know, stupid idea if you really think about, but this is SE logic, usually translated from Japanese to English.
AV can easily be taken down with 18. If you can lock up his 2hr abilities that is. Hell you could probably survive some of them too with adequate tanks and support, but there has to be a way to lock out it's benediction somehow.
Edit: {Welcome Back.} 2006
Um, that would be epic. Al'Taieu would probley just break.Originally Posted by Taj
Hmmm.
Maybe when they say "stopping it's regen" they mean "killing Bene"?
Now that I think about It, they may have meant "Benediction" since for the fact that AV can use It at will.... dunno though, thats a Interesting thought Max™
