The chances seem very slim of anyone actually finding the stone while they were looking for it, making it (probably) safer than it would be elsewhere.
The wand I could see keeping under lock and key and enchantment and whatever else possible, because people know about it, and most likely rumor would blow it up to be even more than it really is. Despite this the latter part of the Harry Potter series has shown us that in this world even the most seemingly unattainable items are always within reach, even against the most impossible odds. Horcruxes, Hallows, and everything else was found, destroyed, put to use or whatever else and there is no reason the Hallows would not again, despite any amount of security. Not saying it's a bad idea though.
It's very early in the morning now and I can't follow my own thoughts, so I scarcely expect anyone else to.
