I still can't figure out what in the 3rd movie foreshadowed the 7th book.

No, the super-right wing had a lot of Buffy-induced conniptions as well. (Though Harry Potter got it a lot worse since he had a lot more revenue than Buffy/Angel.)

I don't think there should be any more books. But really who could blame her if she did write more. She is saying goodbye to literally billions of dollars if she really puts it rest.

She's already got billions though, plus she'll still be getting money from the movies, and the deathly hallows movie isn't due out for 3 years still. Plus all royalties etc.. from the theme park. I think she'll be ok for a while without writing anymore HP stuff. I don't think it's really over though.

yeah because SO many people just stop making money when they earn millions/billions. All it takes is for her to realize 'I can do X amount of good with my money. I could do tons more if I write another say, 5 books.' Most socially responsible billionaires turn to philanthropy. As far as a series goes, I would like it to be done w/the 7 books, but I would understand if she went back into the world 'for the greater good.' Plus people enjoy reading them.

She's worth 1.5 billion dollars. Most of you guys need to understand past a point in the world of higher fiance, you don't need to actively earn money anymore, she could and most likely has a great deal of it invested in various things that will bring money rolling in for years to come. She still has two more movies, a theme park and the money from the sales of the DVD's and the books rolling in and will to come.

JK is already very invested in philanthorphy if you follow her bio. She knows what she's going and what she's doing, better then the fans do.

haha i know lots of 'high finance' (such as how to spell it for one) and that she could live off that money forever and still donate billions is not the point. Also I know about her philanthropy efforts, thats why I mentioned it in the first place. If she shows that she wants to do that, there is no reason to believe that she wouldn't expand her net worth to contribute more. Most people who have the ability to make that kind of money are the the type who don't stop making it just because they have enough to live off of. Then again she didn't make her money through financial wizardry so she might really stop, but 'having enough money' and not 'needing anymore' are really lame reasons.

as for the "worth 1.5 billion" that doesn't actually mean she has that money, but she has said anymore books she writes will be for charity same as the hogwarts library books she wrote for Comic Relief.

well he was magical to begin with, having made it to 3rd year b4 being expelled. I think it was someonethat had never been magical,but I don't know who it'd be.

I liked most of the book, however the middle just dragged on. As cracked.com put it - it had the plot of every RPG ever made with him searching for 7 objects so that he can then face the final boss. While I'm not a huge fan of the movies, I think this would could do decent as a movie because the battle scenes would be much better to actually see on the screen then to read in the book IMO.

Also was Mad Eye ever confirmed dead? I know they said they saw him fall off a broom w/o a wand, but he's a pretty clever guy maybe he improvised. I was waiting for one of the 3 main characters to die near the end, I thought I read somewhere that Rowling said one of the main characters will die in the last book. And I hope she doesn't make anymore Harry Potter series books. There is obvious potential with Harry/Ginny's and Ron/Hermonine's children, as well as Teddy who is very similar to Harry (both parents murdered by Voldemort).

You have a point there but there is an important distinction, in that he had to destroy the objects because to face him before doing that would be pointless. Its not like Simon's Quest where you get Dracula parts to put him down for good. Or a lot of other RPGs in which you retrieve powerful items to make you stronger before you fight the last boss. In this case its to make him able to kill him, and I don't know of a RPG off the top of my head which is like that, but there probably is one.

What'd you guys think of that 30 min conversation between Voldemort and Harry at the end? It seemed pretty weird how Harry would take all that time to explain how he won.

interesting to know that had Mr. Weasley died to the snake that Lupin would've been saved. I think it was the right choice to make. I will definitely get the encyclopedia when it comes out, won't be long imo because I have seen some interviews on the DVDs and they say she has multiple notebooks filled with ideas and backstories she used while writing the book, will be just what I've been wanting to read too. I may be anticipating that way more than I did the 7th book.

OoTP was rated PG-13, so they might be forced to cut a lot to maintain a sub R rating, which would suck.
