JP PT Only

Anyone been noticing this trend poppinig up again in increasing numbers? For awhile it seemed like JPs were fine with NAs but recently they've been turning down my invites and I've been getting that attitude all over the place.

It's not just me, lots of people on my server (Lakshmi) have noticed it. Is this a general thing or exclusive to Lakshmi?

And have other people on Lakshmi noticed the same thing?

Finally, any ideas as to why this might be happening?

My guess would be they don't want to interact with people who offer pet food in exchange for teleports.

Seriously though, I don't make parties very often so I couldn't say I noticed rejected invites as a trend. I've partied with JP people who didn't speak much or any English though in my past few parties leveling MNK (35 yay!), so I know such people still exist though.

When are you inviting them, roughly? This usually doesn't happen on Bahamut, or not to me at least, and I usually merit at the end of JP prime (11 AM ESTish). The time you invite has a large bearing on it, I really don't see them being JP only during NA prime.

As to why they might be doing it, I can't imagine that it has to do with equipment. Most JPs I end up inviting are Rasetsu/ruby ring MNKs, even the WHMs have Wagh Baghnakhs.

Usually inviting them during like, 9-12 EDT pm, or 9-12 EDT am simply does not work.

It's a lot more prevalent 60+ than earlier in levels, too.

Just get IME and set your comment to {English}{No thanks.} then when you get a tell in Japanese just reply with hai and JP smiles, that should be enough to get you into the PT, then just follow everyone around and dont talk too much. >_>
I like in the UK and I like to exp in the mornings when I wake up at the weekend, so there are a lot of JPs on at that time, I don't have any problems getting JP PTs.
You'll find they'll quickly warm to you if you learn a few basic phrases like:
konnichiha (after noon / hello)
yoroshiku onigaishimasu (nice to meet you, be nice to me(ish))
omedetou (congratulations)
arigato PT (thanks everyone (for inviting me) / thanks for the PT)
hai (yes)
iie (no)
meripo PT (merit PT)

there's lots of guides out there, make an effort!

That would probably work as far as getting in goes, but the problem is I have a static and I have to build for it often. We even have our friend who's with us that has IME and speaks some japanese/knows a good portion of kanji try and invite the JPs. They have like, fakejpradar and call him out on it, and tell him to go screw himself lately >.>;

I've made a few PTs too, and I normaly just say: {Excuse me...} {Japanese}/{English} PT {Do you need it?} Seems to work fine at lowlevels 1-60. What level are you exping?

Most JP PT only people aren't worth pting with anyways; I know of a few JP people who I do look for when I make a PT, but for the most part lately any merit PT I'm in is a full LS PT.

I must say though, I loved seeking when I was leveling my BRD. I'd get an invite from a JP player, do a /sea for them and see that they had "JP PT only" and then reply "sorry NA PT ONLY", then get a tell with a JP throwing a table and crying.

This is the sole reason why I VERY rarely make parties and thus taking me forever to reach 75 since I work off invites alone. Usually enough of the right jobs are around, but maybe 2-4 of them might be JP, and I neveeeeeeerrrrrr get them to say yes. I'm sick and tired of it, so I just seek. No invite -> log.

And yes, JP parties are always, always, always better than NA parties (unless you know everyone in it or it's a set of some sort). There are stupid motherfuckers out there.

My problems have been with 60+ jobs mainly.

Even in the old hayday of JP PT Onry, melee people who were Japanese would party with you anyway since it's hard to get an invite on a melee, but even now the melees have started turning me down fairly often, I just don't get it, what changed?

Meh, this problem has been around since NA release. I honestly think the main reason MOST of them do it is because they don't feel like having to auto-translate stuff to get the pt to function. I know I hate it when my pt has a JP player in it that doesn't speak any english, sometimes the communication if very very hard if you need them to do a certain thing.

I staticed RDM with a BRD to 75, almost always exping during JP primetime.

A lot of the time people just wouldn't respond. Which is even more annoying.. I did get a few "JP only"s though not many.
