Whenever I do assaults with a JP group they never get the item appraised so either they don't care or just wait for me to give up and leave. I really don't care because I play maybe once a week now but I have never had a JP assault PT get an item appraised lol.

I passed a JP WHM last night, who had a bunch of ??? items for sale in his bazaar for 10k each. Reminded me of gambling in D2. XD

I've seen JP players that wrote "I don't speak English" or some attempt at it in English, so it's not too far-fetched.

I never really saw "JP only" much, but when I was hunting for party members for 22ish EXP last night there was one JP only COR and a JP BRD that didn't speak English. I tried to talk to the BRD, he was quiet for about 20 minutes after I told him I didn't speak Japanese but eventually gave in and put up with autotranslate and our party. Desperation conquers all. I usually don't have a problem getting into JP parties or inviting them, but I assume it's mostly "Oh god, I've been lfg for three hours and it's 2 AM in Japan, I'll take anything" or "There's only one person on the entire LFG list" invites.

I hope JP only isn't an increasing trend. The only way to fill in parties during the middle of the day when everyone is at school or work is insomniac JP players. As for Besieged... I randomly get invited to alliances of all JP players and spend the next few hours puzzling over why someone had V.Claw in his jump macro.

I was seeking on Bard today for several hours during JP prime time, as lv52, just about lv53. A few parties formed around me, bardless, because there were JP people on who could fit the mage roles (Example: RDM BLM WHM parties). Remora's a shithole, yes, but I don't remember the JPs being this bad. I never ended up getting an invite, which I suppose was ok because I got a Khroma Ore while mining during that seeking time.

Any of you who know JP, can you type out and post, or reply in PM, with the "Nice to meet you" thing that JPs all have in their comments:

I went 28-59 on Remora in all JP parties pretty much. But it was mainly the time of day i leveled it. I think on Remora for the 4 years or whatever i run into you once Wizerd even though i've seen you post here and KI for years , So Its probably a time of day thing.
On Bahamut i went 59-60 with the NA Paladin outdamaging 2 JP Warrior >.> , OH and a DRG in full AF level 14 rings and a spark spear+1 NA though. I'm guessing the JP were laughing at the DRG in shit gear why they missed another rampage.
I just put {Experience Points} {Yes please{ {Area}{Anything} on WAR and NIN i leveled fairly resently i had mix of JP/NA/EU. Getting NA to go to off the beaten track to camp is almost impossible in Garlidge there were a good 45 people 33-36 and still they want to go there >.>

Yeah, 3 job backline is very common in JP parties. They tend to put less of a load on the mages and support.

Those 3 magey pts are awesome. NIN, BLU, THF (? i dont remember), RDM, BRD, WHM (me at level 70 or 71). Most of them were 75 and we went to mamook.

Its been a while since ive had such a good time in a PT. I have had some awesome parties in Nyzul Colibries, Hediva Isle, and the like. But i just like roaming Mamook.

I ended up like 72.7 (Probably like 15k/hr, but really fun).

I haven't partied with anyone but LS for a very long time ( or close friends...) I feel bad for anyone that has to make their own groups or look for party...

Who randomly afks, who is gimp, who sucks....who leaves after level or merit..etc.etc.

As for JPs...well, they are always going to be racist, and I guess they have every right to be...its kind of hard to tell a shitty player who don't speak your language what to do using hte tab key......so I guess they can deal with it if its a JP player but NA Player kind of harder

The thing I like about JP parties is that they're more willing to go to alternative camps. Every time I try to take a NA party to Mamook or trolls, the bitching never stops, wah wah wah I'd rather be competing for pulls at colibri. Then I end up faking a D/C because nobody will voke and the RDM or WHM is afk watching TV

Next thing is NA dont have the common courtesy to understand that JP find it harsh to be examined without asking for permission. Examine is what a doctor does at the hospital and it is very private .

Last but not least many NA think that they are soo much better players but actually they suck big time and dont realise it.

Especially the people in this topic that talked bad about JP or EU players, have to learn to be polite and grow up a little.

You're over-generalizing.

Theres two sides to every coin. You speak as though it is ok for them to disregard the west's general view of respect, and that it isn't ok for us to do the same to them. In North America, its generally considered an extremely bad character trait to have racial prejudice/belief in racial supremecy. In Japan, generally they feel different about this. Its understandable since I don't think they have had the same type of civil rights movements we've had. I'm not saying its like this for everyone or its wrong for them to believe whatever they believe. My point is its rather arrogant of you to think there isn't douchebaggery going on on both sides.

And my take on the original topic is if they don't want to associate with you because of the language you speak then don't bother trying to reach out to them. If they're willing to miss an invite because of fear of being examined or whatever its their loss. Personally I've stopped using the translator all together, and stopped trying to communicate with them too, but if you feel like its worth the trouble to communicate with them go for it.

The simple fact of the matter is that you're going to have noobs no matter what the location. You have dope heads and hookers in Germany right? I think it's pretty safe to say that Japan and European countries have them too. Basically, stop generalizing all around.

Common courtesy to not /check people? If people get bent out of shape on a video game for checking someone then they need to get over it. I'm sure that for as many people who get angry for being checked, there are just as many JP who don't mind it. And for the record, being "Examined" by a doctor and being checked in a video game are entirely different. When I check someone I'm not putting my finger up their butt to check for colon cancer.

Ironic that someone who states that any NA who "talks bad" about JP or EU players need to grow up is making just as many generalizations.

But it's possible that his point of view may actually in some way be similar or represent the Japanese one.
