I agree, but unless he's declared that himself, I think it's unfair for us to draw our own conclusions about his sexuality at 8 years old. Although some people are, not everyone is 100% sure from the moment that they're born that they are gay.

Hence the OP's question about what age would be a good time to make that judgment. I agree though that 8 is far too young for anyone but that child himself to be able to tell whether or not he's gay.
