Really newbie question about Utsusemi

I support the "cast as the mob starts its attack" statement, At that level, crabs are pretty nice mobs to NIN tank, with thier "attack speed"...

..As for Mandies in the jungles... at that point "zomg a war tanking?! hellz no!" was a stigma with some of the people I was levelling with at the time, so I still had to tank, the way i did it was investing in some more defensive equipment where i couldnt stack EVA/DEX/AGI etc etc.. worked wonders... or it may have been a placebo effect...

...Though in Yhoater we did chain VT mandies right up to around 34 so I was glad to switch back to normal gear D:

The best thing to do pre-Ni would be to have a second NIN buddy so you can share hate... as mentioned in a previous post

With proper eva gears, you can tank mandra easily, no idea why people think otherwise. Most fun I had leveling nin sub was to soloing the T one in yuhtunga at level 30, could get lv 2chain or something without healing/npc

As was stated you can time Ichi for most mobs but not all....some attack too fast but they are mostly HNM.....(assuming no shadows)

Get a whm or rdm to land slow and getting Ichi off should be no problem even for those lacking the timing of casting Utsusemi
