In occasional chats with GM's, I've said as much.

List em all. By offense, by time banned (temp or perm), and by server. Yeah, most of it will be garbage-named RMT's, but it's the gilbuyers that get whacked that will be sweet, sweet victory. As it stands, I think if the STF people dropped by a Fan Fair, they'd get a standing ovation.

i am just amazed at how people are still using POS to alter their char speeds when this is probably the easiest thing for SE to detect and ban ppl for.

Actually what I really don't get is how someone can work so hard to gear their character's up with some of the best possible gear they can get for their job and be fucking stupid enough to get banned for using stupid hacks. *I.e. Bubi/Ingwe*

The last thing I'd want to do to my character is piss away the time and effort I spent developing it just because I want to get from one end of the zone to another quicker...

They could use a better detection means for flagging possible botters, I'd be pretty damn sure there's more than 50 botters per month across all the servers....

When that happpens we will probably see inflation due to less gil being taken out by ah tax and the gil created by npc's.

Never. But you knew that.

It's not like the normal state of "make money, spend money" is gone- although amusingly enough, the craftbots and the like are now quite possibly the best gilsink S-E has. They get money from all those cut-throat consumable prices, S-E then proceeds to ban their asses. Rinse, cycle, repeat. It's like gil-seeking missiles.

And actually, one of the reason waaaaay back item drops were nerfed was the proto-RMT's obliterating everything in sight and vendoring the resulting pile of armor/weapons, as it was actually very profitable doing so.

If this keeps up do you think people like IGE will eventually stop all together (in FFXI at least)?

A few months back RMTs stopped using bank mules since they were leading to horrific losses. Now when they get an order they log in with their craft/fish/dig/whatever bots and then undercut like mad to try to get gil quickly.

It makes them harder to spot since the craft/fish/whatever bots aren't logged in 24/7 anymore, but is really destroying the prices of whatever they try to undercut on to make quick gil.
