Oh yea, I know it said "A dozen or so other issues" but seriously. If your hair is down to your ass, why ride something where it could get stuck, lol. It'd be like the idiot woman on Dr.Phil a while back, who said her wedding was doomed from the start because she got her dress caught in the motorcycle they rode off in after the ceremony.

Yeah, she should have worn her hair up to be sure, but there's really no excuse for not having the proper precautions in place. They are supposed to safeguard against things like this happening, should someone make a simple oversight and forget to put up their hair. I've had long hair for the majority of my life, and it's easy to forget.

Also, she's not exactly removing herself from the gene pool by getting her scalp torn off...

You'd be surprised at the number of things you wouldn't be able to do if you just avoided doing them because your hair might get caught. Mine used to get snagged on the screws that held our chairs to our desks in high school. Not to mention car windows, car doors, jacket zippers, purse zippers, shirt buttons, necklaces, earrings, etc. Even now, when my hair is just shoulder-length, it gets caught in things. Should people with long hair have to opt between a crew cut and a scalping? Most people just trust that shit is not going to come close enough to your body most of the time to actually catch hold of your hair and rip it out of your head and that the moving parts of machines aren't going to be open and exposed.

Yes, you should definitely exercise caution around that sort of thing (which she clearly didn't), but there's no excuse for people who don't bother to follow regulations/health codes for no reason other than they don't feel like it.

edit: at least in the movie it was quick and a clean cut; in that situation it's being ripped off and then twirled underneath a go kart. Something about that situation is really gross lol.

But yeah, after knowing the owner didn't have a permit to operate his Go Kart Tracks, and that he was violating several safety violations that resulted in this injury, I hope she sues him for every penny he's worth. He deserves it.
