I think Snake should yell "Supaaaaa, drum can atttaaackaru" when he's doing the drum can roll.

That would make me buy more than one copy of this game.

Also, why'd they make Snake's ass so "visible"...I can't take him seriously when I can see his buttcrack.

Hideo Kojima's new Fart Suppression System. I mean, what kind of old man stealth master rounds a corner while ripping a juicy one due to loss of bowel control?

I don't think he was joking when he made reference to giving away your position by having a foul odor on you. Reference the loldumpster of Doom(!) gameplay video. Maybe Snake's stealth suit has wetworks? It has everything else. Plug 'er up and go!

    Re: MGS4 gameplay

Anyone who hasn't played MGS3 missed out on probably the best game of the series so far. The story was absolutely amazing, and the gameplay was slightly improved over 2. The only thing I didn't really like was the first-aid system, because like Elcura said, having to go into the menu to heal yourself really took a player out of the action.

    The story though...the story.

Metal Gear has always been about suspension of belief mixed with realism, taking outrageous circumstances and putting them into the real world. I kinda wished they'd tame it down on the gimmicky boss fights and be more like MGS1, where it was a bit more believable. Vamp in particular was too over the top for me in MGS2, but I watched the E3 2007 MGS4 trailer and saw his fight w/ Raiden, so maybe he'll be fleshed out a bit more.

Game was bound to be set to easy mode, but MGS enemies have always been exploitable with detection, as you could be standing right in front of them, but as long as you're out of their "radar vision" they won't notice.

Wait I'm stuck playing wii boxing that I dont play anymore?

The porn magazine part just l o l @ that I know about the pics in 2(?) and 3 around but a book now? lol. Anyways it has to be in easy mode to show stuff because all of that was way too simple..no way the real game will be that I hope.

I thought MGS3 was too hard, in a bad way. Still a great game, but many fun things are too hard to execute because soldier's AI/vision/hearing is too good compared to previous metal gears. And the goddamn alarm...why does it last 5minutes? We get the point after 1 minute. >_>

I agree that the alarm was a bit over the top, but other than that and the first aid thing I absolutely loved the game.

Yeah, the lack of radar isn't a problem if you played MGS1 and 2 on the harder modes. And the story in 3 is fucking amazing. The Boss is my favourite boss in all the MGS series (Sniper Wolf coming in second now). Also, 3 is much more lenient if you get spotted, on my first play through I couldn't could the times I got spotted and ended up blasting my way into safety (unlike the first two games, where that is a pretty bad idea).

I actually enjoyed no radar, it was way too easy to avoid being found when you knew the soldier 10 feet away from you couldn't see you because you were 1 foot out of his range of vision.

I never should've watched that trailer, I want the game now and I don't even own a PS3 and its not coming out for half a year.

Well MGS4 seems it won't dissapoint, not that anyone thought it would that is.

The online play should be interesting. It seems to be more along the lines of deathmatch stuff, was hoping for some co-op action. We'll see what pans out from the Japanese beta for it.

    Re: MGS4 gameplay

The first aid didn't bother me because I never got hurt.

I enjoyed 3 much more than the previous two. Moving slowly, hiding in cover and very carefully observing the soldier's patrol patterns in order to find the hole through which to slip through to the next area or take someone out was without a doubt my favourite aspect of MGS3. Scouting out hiding places, darting from one cover to the next, choosing camo...the danger was much more real, timing was everything. If you didn't just kill anything that moved, the experience was extremely intense. You didn't just end up staring at the radar.

Looks like 4 is continuing the awesomeness. The new auto-camo will take out a lot of the tedium involved in opening the menu every time you walk over a new surface.

I'm just glad they're keeping with the SplinterCell'ish camera setup they used in MGS3:Subsistince (the version of it I played, couldn't stand constantly swapping to FPS to see ahead of me in vanilla MGS3), it works wonders.

I played MGS1 and 2 a ton. Completed both game on every level. I beat MGS3 twice on normal difficulty, and gave up midway on the hardest (was taking too long and wanted to finish other game).

I'm not sure "hard" is the correct way to describe the game, but many little details annoyed me. The camera make it really hard to progress in open area unless you know where every guard spawn. Crawling is fun to avoid guard, but not necessarily fun when you have to use it all the time because you arent sure if there is guard or not.

Simple stuff like knocking on a wall or throwing empty magasine never worked for me in MGS3, and this was one of my favorite aspect of MGS2. The game is not hard if you butcher your way through the game, or if you dont mind sitting 10min in one place, but doing something inbetween was a lot harder.

MGS has always been more fun without radar imo. Peeking over corner and the like make it a lot more interesting..also had a surprise element to many situation

you dont need 10 minutes to go from point a to point b in MGS , anyway this is getting derailed >.> everyone plays the game differently. Sometimes i play to enjoy the scenery and fuck with guards, and sometimes i try to play ala VR missions.

Was an exageration obviously in most area, but if you crawl your way through the game, many zone will take a long time
