Don't give up yet. Are you subbing NIN? It takes a lil while to get used to it... I'm guessing you've just moved from Castle Zvahl? I can't remember but I seem to think that beastmen pets in the tunnel near the cloister of gales in Cape Terrigan were a great camp...

You do have days where you mess up a lot, but others you sail through xp like no tomorrow. Another option is to team up with a RDM or BLM buddy and duo. SCH also works. You need to get the hang of soloing if you're going to level BLM. If nothing else, you need to learn to fend for yourself in dynamis!

Realisticaly, you'll get the odd invite 40-60 but after that it will pretty much dry up. I soloed 90% or more of my xp 40-70. From 68-69 you'll start to get into Manaburn parties and life becomes easier again.

Thanks for the input! I guess I just need some more practice; I found that my main problem was my gimped enfeebling skill keeping me from landing sleep/bind consistently. Got lucky today and hit lvl47 through PT invites! I'll be going back to soloing once this stupid NM drops my Moldavite Earring... ><

Do you get hit at least once on the way to 100tp? That could fix it. Or you could macro in barone pants for tp during jump if you dont already.
The triple attack has been proven to be 1% on homam body recently making it much weaker than previously thought bodywise. If it gives you a 6 hit then askar body can be very strong so keep that in consideration or try for an aurum body.
I'd use the homam hands simply because it's annoying having to swap out gear just to walk to the next mob or once you get in town and the acc is generally better.
askar zucchetto is better than walmart turban provided it gives you an fstr bump,2~3 acc and you are getting less than 59% haste(without the head).
So to sum up askar head if you wanna be all "shit is situational" then it's perfectly fine until you have a 2x brd party.

Ring1: Woodsmen
Ring2: Jaegar
Pants: Byakko (unsure if to use Pahl or my Barbossa)

Soloing and not dying does have a bit of a learning curve. I'm finding it pretty easy since I leveled BST to 75 a long time ago (which isn't the same as BLM solo, but you learn a few things), and have had a lot of practice pulling beastman pets for exp (duo/trio on several of my jobs). I just soloed BLM from 45 to 60 in the past 2 weeks. It does get much easier at 50/51.

For underleveled skills, you can go to a Campaign battle with no tags, find a target that looks safe (like something being soloed by a 75 PLD/DNC, or a fortification with no mobs and 30 people nearby) and spam a cheap spell on it. I've had to do this with Elemental and Dark, because the levels fly by too quickly 1-shotting pets for Elemental to keep up, and Dark barely gets used at all. You'll have to move from fortifications to mobs after about level 50, but again, it's not too hard to find a reasonably safe one. I like to throw stuns on any mob I'm using for this whenever it's up, which helps apologize for feeding them extra TP (though half the time my nukes did 0 anyway). Aspir works on most stuff in Campaign, though not fortifications.

There is a risk of death and slightly annoying a few people, but there's a greater risk of death with gimped skills, and most people didn't seem to mind terribly.

Well, for Ascetic's Fury specifically you need either Flame or Light gorget. I said Flame as Light gorget requires 2x UFO organs.

I don't know what other jobs you have, or aspire to, but Flame will get you Full swing, and also Asuran fists, but you already have Soil which covers that.
Light gorget nets you: Howling fist, and Sidewinder/Slugshot.

Either gorget covers: Tachi: Kasha, Attonement, Drakesbane, Insurgency, and Hexa strike.

Personally, I carry Flame gorget and Thunder gorget on MNK. Flame covers Asuran fists and Ascetic's fury, Thunder covers Howling fist, Dragon kick, and even Raging fists.

Really, it depends on what other jobs you have (or aspire to) to help decide what gorgets would be best for you to get.

Forager's definitely for Asuran. You get enough acc in other slots like chaning from black belt to life belt, and from turban to ohat/hissho hachimaki. If its something where landing hits is THAT difficult w/o making the switch, you should probably be using howling fist on that mob

would use foragers on everything but insurgency/guillo, abyss cape is better for those, cuch is awesome for blu multihit spells and maybe for tping on shit like fafhogg while eating meat. dont have 1 myself but ill try it out on SB/MS/evis when i get 1 but my gut feeling says foragers.
