Why is Gallant body supposedly better than Adaman Cuirass for a lvl 75 Non-Valor/Non-Are's PLD? 20hp? Really? I don't think that is correct, unless there is something I am missing? (I understand it looks goofy, but still....)

I don't think there's a legitimate reason, only that the people who put the body on tend to put on the rest, and the rest isn't so great.
Errant and INT hat for sure.
+14 INT will make much more of a difference than +4 INT and +8 ele skill.
Even at 72, you should have enough skill to nuke puddings without getting resisted too often. Plus INT also helps to prevent resists.. so you're getting basically the same amount of resists but much more damage.
Adaman Cuirass is better than NQ Gallant, but Gallant is free. :3
The stickler, as was mentioned before, is that people that usually wear Adaman Cuirass put on ALL FIVE pieces like nubs.
But no, there's nothing wrong with it otherwise.
I even liked the look of Adaman Cuirass for the 3 weeks I wore it before getting Valor. /ducks
This. They're really about dead even, and the ideal situation for the two would be to blink into Adaman for actions and idle in Gallant. Generally though, when you're choosing between Adaman and Gallant, you're not at the point where you're micromanaging you gear, so the choice is between 1% more hate gained and looking hideous, and ~1.5% less CE loss, marginally more survivability, and looking good.
Gallant is just a better-balanced piece in general, for the point in your tanking career where balancing your stats is most important.
Banned.
For thief
Homam Corazza: Acc+15 Triple attack +1%
or
Raparee Harness: Haste+4%
i see most thiefs with corazza using it for tp, but i still cant decide if the triple attack is worth the loss of haste... maybe with the 15acc its worth it?
Depends on what you're fighting. HNM or higher evasive mobs probably homam.
With feint and low-eva mobs definetly rapparee. Also depends which food your using.
Rapparee Harness:
1. During Feint
2. Using sushi in most scenarios
3. When accuracy is otherwise capped or near to
4. When haste values are VERY high and accuracy is still sufficient (~40%+ in meripos with ~85%+ accuracy otherwise)
5. When recasting Utsusemi solo (less recast time)
Figures on #4 may be slightly off now that the TA is found to be an enhancement of 1% (or even 0% effectively if TA caps at 10%), but those are the 5 situations where Rapparee Harness > Homam Corazza.
Corazza in all other situations.
"Otherwise" implies accuracy without body slot.
so basically leave raparee and a full haste set on my Utsu macro, and just not switch back to homam if i dont need the acc, thanks ^^
I'm leveling Ranger currently since I snagged a Vali's Bow for 2M. I already know how to gear myself up to 75, but I was looking at that /NIN to /SAM to /WAR thread for RNG and couldn't really decide if a 5-hit gun with a build would outdo a 6(?)-to-7-hit build with a Vali's Bow.
Anyone have any thoughts on this subject?
Perdu Sickle or Death Scythe +1
Gear:
Head: Ace's Helm
Body: E body
Back: Foragers Mantle
Neck: PCC
Hands: Homan
Waist: Swifte Belt
Earrings: Assault / Brutal
Rings: Toreadors / Ulthalma's Ring
Legs: Homan
Feet: Homan
Wondering WHich Scyhte is best for that set up ><
For Ranger:
Barbarrossa's Moufles:
Ranged Accuracy+7 Ranged Attack+7
vs.
Enkidu's Mittens:
STR+4 DEX+4 Accuracy+5 Ranged Accuracy+5 "Subtle Blow"+2
I'd go with Enkidu.
Possibly a stupid question but my WAR's 37 and someone asked me this and I couldn't reply... For Steel Cyclone on a darksday, Amemet +1 or Shadow Mantle (+20VIT on Darksday)?
