I'm just looking for input for what my ah nin will/should wear at 75 for tp, so far I have:
Senj/Unji
Bomb Core
W.Turban
Chiv Chain
Suppa/(hopefully in the near future brutal)
haub
Dusk gloves
Rajas/Woodsman (maybe Snipers if I feel like the upgrade)
Amemet+1
Sword Belt+1/Life Belt (depending on acc)
Trousers...no idea
Sarutobi Khayan
I have ZERO access to anything requiring nm's to be killed with more than myself, before someone comes out with b.haidate. And feel free to assume full katana merits.
Any comments and criticism appreciated, thanks in advance.
Fire Bomblet would be a good idea if it's within the scope of your budget.Senj/Unji
Bomb Core
W.Turban
Chiv Chain
Suppa/(hopefully in the near future brutal)
haub
Dusk gloves
Rajas/Woodsman (maybe Snipers if I feel like the upgrade)
Amemet+1
Sword Belt+1/Life Belt (depending on acc)
Trousers...no idea
Sarutobi Khayan
PCC (obviously) as well.
AF/+1 body is preferable if your ACC supports it.
Legs, Dusk is a good option, or Royal Knights, or Relic if you do Dynamis.
Sole Sushi or Marinara Pizza for THF 22->37?
Gear is this at 24:
Nadrs/Decurion's Dagger/Rogetsurin
Emp. Hairpin/Spike/Beetle +1 x2
Garrison Tunica/Battle Gloves/Balance Ring x2
Nomad's Mantle/-/Garrison Hose/Bounding Boots
Edit: meant to put this in the randomer thread, but I guess it kinda works here too?
At low levels, sushi's accuracy bonus is very slim and at 22 you're only going to gain about 12-15 accuracy or so, which translates into about +6-7% hit rate. Out of those 2 options, the pizza would be your best bet by far as you'd gain 20% more attack while only losing about 4-5 accuracy compared to sushi.
On another note, rice dumpling at that level is almost as useful as the pizza if you're looking for a good stackable option.
I hardly ever use sushi at low levels (usually stick to jacko's, dumplings, or pizza now) but I was wondering if sole would be good since it has the +dex on it as well.
I would probably still stick with pizza probably myself. The attack+ would help out on all your hits overall more so then the 6dex imo
Until level 50~'s you shouldn't really bother with Accuracy food. Rice Dumpling(or navarin earlier) it up all the way.
After 50~'s, ideally you should focus on your acc gear and eat meat whenever possible unless you are fighting something that's higher level than what you should be fighting(again, this is wrong but we are also not living in a perfect world).
Pop accuracy food only when you have to. If you are unsure, fight 2-3 mobs without food to test your accuracy.
Debating some Steel Cyclone gear choices.
I don't use my WAR that much outside of easy things like Salvage and Limbus (ie. Raging Rush spammage) but I have no idea on a couple of slots for Steel Cyclone.
Current SC setup and what I'm debating is:
Perdu/Pole Strap/Fire Bomblet
Genbus Kabuto or Ares Mask? (Just finished Ares tonight and I don't have NHead)
Sea Gorget (Have Fort Torque also)/Brutal/Assault (I'll get Triumph eventually)
Hauby+1/Warriors Mufflers +1 (No Heca hands, Byakko is stingy)
ACC rings, or Flame Ring/Sattva, or 2 STR rings, or some combo?
Foragers Mantle/Warwolf Belt/Barones Legs/Heca Feet.
RR is similar but previously used a Unicorn Cap, and I use Haidate and change rings if I need the ACC to get consistent full returns or not.
Mainly curious about SC: Ares Mask vs. Genbucket, and I assume 2 STR rings and Sea Gorget over ACC rings/VIT rings and Fort Torque.
Thanks in advance for the help.
anyone care to expand on ancient torque vs sea torque?
Blau Dolch/Thief's Knife or X's Knife/Thief's Knife?
In my opinion i'd use X's/Thief cause its cooler, but for speed and better DoT Blau/THF.
so either quicker farming (Blau/THF wins)
or Looking Damn good while farming (X/THF)
Your choice!
or if your talking about events, HNMs, etc... i'd use X's and if Mandalic Stab if ya got it O_o
I'm looking for suggestions for my DRG. Finally decided to focus on one job instead of jumping all over the melee world.
TP:
Skystrider
Pole Strap
Smart Grenade
Walmart turban
C. Chain (PCC when I have the gil for it)
Brutal
Assault
SH (AJ when acc is fine)
dusk
Rajas
Ulthalam's
Amemet +1
P. Belt (trying for swift, no luck on getting a run organized)
AF+1
Dusk
For Jumps, Barone macroed in. Maybe Barone body, not too thrilled on blowing 700k for 2 tp.
For WS:
Skystrider
Pole Strap
Smart grenade
Wyrm Armet
C. chain
Brutal
Assault
AJ (working on askar, them fuckers is stingy)
Alky's
Rajas
Flame
Amemet+1
Barone cosciales
Askar feet
Gods aren't in question yet, until I find a shell.
Any/All suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance.
*edit*
Full Polearm merits.
For TP, ancient torque is better than the standard torques provided your accuracy isn't capped with the sea torque and you aren't at ridiculously low pdif. In the case of love torque, it's closer so you're usually better off w/ it at reasonable pdif.. using greater colibri as an example: 322 defense lv81/82. At 500 attack, you have a ratio of 1.55 that translates to 1.25 or 1.2 after level correction depending on which level the colibri is. 7 attack will increase that by .02, a 1.6% increase on level 81 birds and 1.7% increase on level 82 birds. Compared to ancient torque on DRG, which has only 1.25 more acc resulting in .625% hitrate(0.6% increase at 90% accuracy, 1.25% increase at 50% accuracy, linear in between.. never beats love torque's attack at a reasonable base attack/acc). For justice torque, assuming accuracy attack and fSTR aren't capped, you gain ~1% damage through fSTR, 2.6% through attack on a lv82 bird, and 2.75% through attack(assuming ~500 attack before neck) for a total of ~3.6% or ~3.75% depending on bird level. Ancient torque in the same situation is an increase of 5 accuracy, which means 2.5% hitrate, a 2.7% increase in damage at 90% accuracy.. 5% increase at 50% accuracy, 3.5% at 70% accuracy.. won't usually be better. Any of the torques that don't boost STR/DEX result in only 1.6%/1.7% increase in damage from the attack while ancient torque maintains the same advantage of 2.7% damage at 90% acc, 3.5% at 70% acc, 5% at 50% acc, etc. Keep in mind that boosting accuracy also boosts the amount of weaponskills you'll pull off, while boosting attack doesn't.. calculating that requires your average WS damage and such, but it still won't put ancient torque ahead of love torque. It beats justice torque if your WS damage is over 37% of your total damage.
TLDR; if your accuracy and attack are both within the realm of reason, ancient beats all but love torque, sometimes justice torque, and about ties with faith torque if you have a weird merit setup or are a pup and gain a point of base damage from it.
Life > Potent for TP.
A THF and 2 BST w/ 2hr can handle any of the Swift Belt NMs.
Homam also waiting for a shell, I guess.
If potent belt pushes your fSTR up by 1, it's adding roughly 1% damage through that and it will push your fSTR up by 1 in 3/4 of situations. 2.25 attack = about .6% increase in damage. Overall, this means you're gaining 1.35% damage from the STR on average. The 2 accuracy is 1.1% at 90% accuracy, 1.3% at 75% accuracy, 2% at 50% accuracy. The cutoff point is a bit below 75% acc, so if you have more than 75% accuracy before the extra 2 acc, potent belt will be a better belt over time. If you wanted to be a nazi, you could check if your fSTR is going up and only use it if so, meaning it comes out to 1.6% damage increase in situations where you use it and will be better than life belt above 63% accuracy. When your fSTR isn't going up, life belt will be better unless accuracy is capped.
I'm retarded. I have a limbus shell, just waiting my turn for drops. If/when I get homam body (also have drk and blu @75), when would I use it? Only when in dire need of more acc, or... (this is over, say, AJ or soon-to-be Askar body, I hope)
