Probably.
You could use this Fourth Division Gauntlets - Asura - FFXIAH.com for hands instead usually no more then 10k on a ah should last a nice long time.
thanks for the ancient vs sea torque math thorny
Ares Cuirass vs. Hecatomb/Hecatomb +1 Harness as WS piece?
I've been thinking about this lately, before Ares Hecatomb Harness was without doubt the best body WS piece, but then Ares Cuirass showed up with as much STR as a regular Harness and a with a nice boost to Attack.
So in theory Ares has higher damage potential than NQ Hecatomb Harness, im not good at damage formulas so idk how the extra 1STR on HQ Hecatomb works versus Ares attack boost.
But then on the other side we have Hecatomb accuracy boost, seeing as how much of the jobs that can use both Hecatomb and Ares use multi-hit weapon skills most of the time Hecatomb accuracy should help getting better Weapon Skill consistency over time.
Does this mean that Hecatomb/Hecatomb +1 is still King as WS body even in the jobs that can use Ares? Or getting to the simplified stats what would be better 24 Attack vs. 10 acc [+1STR 11 acc] on WS?
Ares for steel cyclone/spinning slash/spiral hell, Nbody for anything else.
I'll take 10 acc on any multi-hitter over 24 attack any day, especially if it means I can swap acc somewhere else.
It's pretty easy to see without even fully doing the math that any gain you might get from 24 attack across 3+ WS hits (RR/KJ/Guilly/Insurg/Penta/DB), is lost the instant you miss 1 hit.
Personally I'd say ares wins[assuming two hander] if you swap forager/amemet/cerb > Cuch Mantle when you need acc, since +9 att +1~2 str +4 dex vs 5 acc is generally a trade you can afford to make.
Well, even then.
16 Str 24 Att 4 Dex 5 Acc A+C
15 Str 39 Att A+F
16 Str 4 Dex 15 Acc N+C
15 Str 15 Att 10 Acc N+F
I'd lean towards the 15/15/10, then the 16/4/15 before I'd ever try 16/24/4/5 on a multi-hitter.
Even on Drg, yeah you're +22 Acc over everyone else, but you're also adding at least 1 WS hit, if not 2, and you will NEVER land all those hits over a certain %, so taking away from that % just strikes me as counter productive.
for drakesbane 90% of the time I use N + C now, since I am not quite capped on acc if I am using N + F on higher level of G. Colibiri with this set. Although personally I'd take Aurum + C to be ideal for drakesbane, but if any acc buffs I would swap to ares/foragers
Aurum + Cuch's would be my ideal DB choice, like Xanthe.
For Fire Resist gear on NIN/DRK:
Neptune's Staff or Iron Ram's Lance?
Neptune's. Beat ;; I loaded page then went afk.
I've had suppa for several years now, which i originally got for my ridill war and 75 ninja.
I now find myself playing my drk to pretty much every linkshell event, and if im on war im using gaxe. Only time war gets ridill action is in limbus, merits or nyzul.
So, first question, is it worth me changing the suppa to an abyssal for my (now main job) drk instead of the ethereal earring im currently using (which means using either ethereal/assault or ethereal/brutal on 75war or 75nin)? 302 skill in scythe is very tempting.
Second question, an easier one probably, my nin is generally solo stuff only, so i use mamushito+1x2. I have senjuinrikio unlocked and i could get perdu, is there a kinda of "agreed upon" better combination here?
Skystrider + Supremacy Earring or Thalassocrat + Ethereal
Other than the bigger number, would you really see much of a performance increase over an Assault Earring? I don't think the difference from that would be as big a boost as the DW bonus is to NIN or /NIN.So, first question, is it worth me changing the suppa to an abyssal for my (now main job) drk instead of the ethereal earring im currently using (which means using either ethereal/assault or ethereal/brutal on 75war or 75nin)? 302 skill in scythe is very tempting.
Senj/Perdu is the current gold standard for most things. Solo would be trickier, as the Stun procs are nice, and if you're /DNC then a Perdu would be spending a lot of time without the latent active.Second question, an easier one probably, my nin is generally solo stuff only, so i use mamushito+1x2. If all you're doing is solo, probably just stick with the Mamushitos, or use Senj in mainhand for some stuff. If you're branching out a bit, then Senj/Perdu is the way to go.
1 base damage versus 3% crits? Fudo is a better weapon than often given credit for, but I still don't think it'd be better than Senj.fudo outdoes senj for both tp and ws
it depends on your pdif and fstr, assuming a standard good setup:
Katana/Perdu - Bomblet
Turban - Peacock/Hope - Brutal/Suppa
Hauby+1 - Dusk/+1 - Sniper+1/toreador/mars
Forager's - Swift/Speed - Haidate - Fuma/Dusk+1
You have a total of +9 STR, hume NIN has 70 base total of 79 STR. Greater colibri have 67 VIT, so you have a bonus of 3 from fSTR totalling 41 base damage with senji. 6% crits at 41 base damage means 6% of 41 added to your average damage, as a crit increases pdif by 1 flat. 6% crit in this scenario is 2.46 damage/hit average increase, does not fluctuate with anything besides fSTR and weapon damage, weapon damage will not change if you stay with senji obviously, though fSTR changes by a tiny amount if you change mobs. Now, the more complicated math(using the inferior options mentioned above to favor senji even more for this example):
285 katana skill before gear, 79 str = 319 attack
perdu blade, bomblet, NQ dusk gloves, foragers, hauby+1, swift = 362
valor minuet iv(+61 w/o merits) = 423
mithkabob = 483
berserk 3/5 of the time means an average of 15% increase = 555
It's pretty safe to assume your attack will average at least 550 meritting, considering that's not even accounting for warcry, possible 2x minuet or chaos roll, or the possible upgrades mentioned earlier.
550 / 322 = 1.7 - .3 for level correction = 1.4 pdif on lv81 birds
550 / 327 = 1.68 - .35 for level correction = 1.33 pdif on lv82 birds
Adding one base damage adds your pdif in damage to each swing, in this case 1.33 - 1.4. It adds an additional 1 damage to each critical hit you have, assuming 15% crit this comes out to 1.48 - 1.55. 3% crit at 42 base damage = 1.26 damage/swing average increase. 1 base damage and 3% crit rate in this scenario is 2.74 - 2.81 damage/hit average increase depending on the level of the bird.
TLDR; People love to think their senji is useful because they put time and effort into obtaining and unlocking it, but simple math shows that Fudo is a better weapon and MUCH easier to get. The difference is so minimal that there is nothing wrong with using senji if you have it, but I would never recommend unlocking it to someone who just got 75 NIN.
