Also on the topic of DRG WS pants, how would aurum legs be compared to dusk, primarily for an ares body user.

Conte looks better than Aurum unless you're needing the accuracy.
Ascetic's fury, rather get str/att to keep a good average, or push dex for crit chance ?
usu or byakko would be best ? as melee gaiters - usu feet ?
(without taking accuracy in account, just wondering about the easyness of gaining crit% using dex. Any cap to reach ?)
Actually, I'll take that back. It would really depend on the rest of your gear. Run a parser on around 40-50 WS in a row on something and see the difference. Might also depend on what you're fighting.personally I use aurum for drakebane since hard to tell if you capping acc on ws or not, I am considering askar though over them.
Is it even possible to parse WS acc of multi-hits. I know direct parse only takes into account that any hit of the ws lands, most often showing 100% ws acc.
Because any damage 1 to 1000 is considered a "hit". Unfortunately it doesn't say that you landed 3/4 hits on your Drakesbane. So you'd actually have to look at the WS average over the course of using the ability. Personally, I'd sell Conte and use Aurum.
Is Ares body even that good? I mean you lose out on the 5(6 hit) build unless you make up that 5STP somewhere. Unless yo ugot like valk fork and white tathlum or some other piece of gear im forgetting about which is probably mega obvious and I overlooked.
I feel like Zahak Mail is better than Ares 10 STR 10 DEX +3% Crit but meh.
For solo i guess its ok, although Askar Body is basically the same, and with sanction refresh and wyrm armet you're good or ethereal. Not arguing that ares isnt good but i feel like its use is marginal compared to say PLD or DRK.
yea but ethereal just flat out isn't as good as refresh generally especially on /blu, for anything in conquest areas ares is huge set-up, but if you mainly in past/TAU areas, it's not as big of a deal, also I'd use ares for sure if I was /thf or /war for some reason. Also how is it good at -all- for drk, refresh and some attack for 15 acc 10 dex from e body just seems like foolish trade off to me to me, I'd argue ares pld = drg > drk > war, since pld this days don't need that much refresh.
>.>
Pld always needs refresh, if you have an mp surplus, you aren't spamming curecheats enough! :D
Also, I'd go Zahak's for DB over Ares any day and twice on sunday, Drg has bad Dex options, it gives some acc for a multi-hitter, and 3% Crit vs 2 Str and 24 Att.
As att is less amazing when you are relying on critical hits, I'd say you'd have to be very confused to have both and still use Ares.
With a standard 18% haste build, your delay with DRG is generally going to be 405.5 and 356.5 with Hasso. Sword Strap will reduce this to 346 delay but the net difference in attack speed with Sword Strap is only 0.1 second(5.8s with sword strap and 5.9 without.) Without Hasso it's a net of 0.2seconds, but I'd still think the Pole Strap would help more.
60 delay= 1 second
356.5 delay= Swing once every 5.9 seconds.
5.9 seconds x 100= 590 seconds.
So assume 100 swings in 590 seconds. Pole Strap is +2 swings for 102 swings in 590 seconds.
Now the +0.2 attack speed:
5.8 seconds x 100= 580 seconds.
So assume 100 swings in 580 seconds.
Basically Pole beats out Sword strap by an extremely narrow margin because
swinging 102x in 590 seconds > swinging 100x in 580 seconds.Since attack speed is 5.8 and the difference in delay of both reaching 100 swings is 10 seconds you'd only see a differential in swings of 1.7 swings. Because there's no such thing as a fraction of a swing, it's truncated to 1 extra swing, while polestrap provides 2.
Although the difference would shift in favor of Sword Strap in a much longer fight(longer than 10 minutes), but generally the more haste you have the crappier sword strap gets.
Also pole strap can proc on weapon skills and jumps
Sword Strap is just balls because it's like an extra 3% haste except it doesn't stack with your other haste, its merely a reduction after haste is applied, so it's weak and puny and should be hated.
did you really just blow your data that badly?
sword strap is 101.7 swings in 590 seconds, so it's a .3 swing difference.*
this is also assuming that DA is your *only* source of DA.
if you have say, 10% DA on both, then you get 111.8 from sword strap in 590 seconds, and 112 from pole. (took a tenth of a swing already)
the more DA you have, the less valuable pole is; just like the more haste you have, the less valuable sword is. which is less valuable (Assuming no cost to maintaining hit setup) is based entirely on which you have more of.
for drg/sam in particular, you'll almost always have more haste; but this isn't true for all possible setups.
*truncation is all well and good in some things, but imagine for a minute if we'd had the mob die at 580 seconds. now it's 99 swings for pole, and 100 swings for sword...

Here it was concluded that Sword beats Pole grip (At first they said Pole Grip wins, but they didn't include the fact that it also provides more WSs so they changed the conclusion).
Igqira Weskit or Oracle's Robe for nuking?
