With my setup, what would be better?
Ochiudo's Kote/Melee Gloves (16/20atk) or Usukane Gote (10acc) for salvage and merits?
Destroyers/Fenrir's Stone
Usukane Somen/PCC/Brutal/Ethereal
Shura Togi/???/Rajas/Ulthalam
Cerberus Mantle/Black Belt/Byakko's/Usukane sune-ate
Replace fenrir's stone for tiphia sting for merits.
I was planning to full time usukane gote when I got it, but now I'm not so sure. I don't know if I'm overdoing it on acc (max H2H merits), and 20, even 16atk seems like a lot to trade when I'm only running with around 470 atk (using pizza) during salvage.
Anyone know how much acc it is to cap against common merit mobs and how do I calculate it?
Refer to my build on the left. Replace merman's with minuet. With active minuet I do 85% acc on lv 82 birds and higher on lv 81. I swap usu gloves for Bkote with Focus up.
Get rid of the fenrir's get a Tiphia btw.
As for salvage, attack gloves until boss. If you meat build on boss with min/march go with gote no focus kote focus, but if you do pizza, sushi, or march/marigal, go with kote/gloves
Feet for a 66 mnk besides fuma kyahan? Mithra, no h2h merits.
otherwiki page for vidohunir claims that MAB is a 2ndary ws modifier. vido is a magic based tp move iirc so is that right or is it a misunderstanding of how MAB affects it? IE is MAB doubly effective in increasing the damage? my suspicion is not, and it's just a dumb post, but i'm feeling snarky and want to figure out what kind of a build i could cook up for vido to try to hit some big numbers.
No one makes em here, I'll just gimp my way into dunes. Is it worth picking up hades at 70 if I plan to do salvage and might not get destroyers for a while or should I just hold out for waghs and get destroyers asap? Also do I just use tac mag hooks+1/2 until then?
I only use hades for solo rly. Destroyers aren't hard to get at all. Even if you don't have any KS orbs, just make a run that the other 5 ppl (who don't need destroyers) have orbs and u get 5 shots at a pair per run.
This. Get Destroyers. THF and SAM have to pay big money for Blau and Hagun, but Destroyers are free and not exactly an uncommon drop. If all else fails, offer to buy them off of people when a KSNM is being done.
They don't npc for a whole lot, so you shouldn't have to offer anything more than uh.. 10k?
A couple friends and I do Double Dragonian all the time and toss tons of destroyers while getting some nice gil drops. Find 2-3 blm buddies to throw in orbs: they'll make gil, you get your weapon.
On Greater Colibri with WAR:
2% Haste
10 atk
3 acc
vs.
16 Dex (Pushing dDEX from 34 to 50, theoretically capping crit rate)
4 STR
Assume 2x march + haste + full time hasso. First build is 19% haste, second build is 17%.
Simplified:
2% Haste
7 atk
vs.
9 acc
~10% Crit increase (probably slightly more)
1 base damage (from fSTR)
I'm quite sure the second build will win, but by how much I am uncertain. I would need to get an ancient torque + Askar Head/Hands. I would not get the full benefit from the 9 acc. Accuracy is definitely capped with aggressor + hasso on, and is very nearly capped with just hasso (yes this is parsed). Is it worth gunning for the second build?
Assuming that the acc bonus on y/g/k doesn't apply to da procs, woudln't str+2 earring beat out brutal on higher lv HNMs?
Crit tiers (plural) do not exist. They're a myth. It's all bullshit. The only thing you need to 'break' in order for DEX to have an effect on critical hits is being at least 10 DEX-over-mob-AGI. From there, each point of DEX has impact on critical hitrate, but the higher you get, the more impact each DEX has. Yes, an Iota ring (for instance) becomes relatively more attractive the higher your DEX-over-mob-AGI is but there's no 'new' crit tier or so, it'll just give an x% increase in critical hitrate relative to your old DEX-over-mob-AGI.

Yes, this isn't the first time I post this today. :3
2% haste vs. 10% crit depends on your haste, your PDIF, etc. Aren't there other slots you can sacrifice? A DEX+5 ring next to a rajas could be an option, a Cuchulain's mantle doesn't hurt (especially if you're not exactly at ACC cap w/o aggressor), and do you have aurum sabatons? 2% haste is quite nice in merits since you're getting marches, haste and hasso. But putting it like that, the 10% crit probably wins.
