That's not exactly true. It depends on the mob if Guillotine (or Insurgency if you are making Light) will do worse than Spinning Slash...

Also depend on if Souleater is on too

Letting the Blm's dramatically improve their mp efficiency, while gaining a bit of free damage yourself by holding TP for a couple of seconds is stupid.

Just done Dynamis-bastok, and was trying to parse between Guillotine vs Insurgency Vs Spinning Slash. Spinning Slash's ws average came out much higher than the other 2.

Things to note: Mobs weren't Dia-ed, I didn't get any buffs, and I didn't pop any foods (Immacheapskateyea)

Which leads me to think, am I doing it wrong for my Guillotine?

Depends on your accuracy...for Guillotine, Potent Belt(+8 acc) is almost always better than Warwolf. And you should of course use an accuraacy ring if you are not capped during WS.

I don't see any +acc on your leg pieces(Ares', Hecatomb), boots(Homam/Heca/Ares), head(Heca, Ares, Ace's) so at this stage, Guillotine/Insurgency in warwolf and STR ring is a luxury for you. Personally I'd never suggest Guillotine'ng in Warwolf...except maybe against easy ass Nyzul mobs, etc.

Your accuracy seems to be the problem(of course, this also depends on what you are fighting). Don't sacrifice hit rate for anything.

On a more serious note, spinning slash has a large pdif bonus built into it from what I've been told.. this makes it much more useful in situations where you don't have adequate attack buffs/debuffs while guillotine shines when you have buffs anyway and the extra pdif from spinning slash is superfluous.

The only time I've really seen Dual Wield Axes work well for a Warrior is burning through really weak enemies, like in Nyzul Isle and Salvage, but then using a Great Axe for Notorious Monsters and Bosses is still better. Even using a Polearm for Gears is better sometimes.

I finally was able to get my Omega ring last night. Now is it better then Snow/Aqua Ring? I currently have one of each of the Snow/Aqua ring. So I'm most likely going to sell both of them if the Omega Ring can replace both.

Go ahead, Omega Ring is just as good as Snow/Aqua and there isn't much point in keeping those two assuming that you've got a tamas.

Actually.... Yes, I don't usually use that set. I only got my Abyss cape for a week or so, and haven't had to chance to use it at all, basically I purposely put up what you called "Dynamis-Bastok Guillotine set". In the past, I used a combo of Potent Belt/Blood Ring/Forager Mantle.

Anyways, what you and Thorny just confirmed my thoughts, that Guillotine needs good attack value to pump good damage, in turn again leads to my original question: Ares Leg Vs Onyx Cuisses for Guillotine?

Use Ares's. In fact, you can go ahead and sell your Onyx and use the gil elsewhere if you've got Ares's already.

Awesome. Yes, I have a Tamas ring. I'm kinda debating on just hanging onto those two rings on the off chance I decide to go through and level PLD next. But everyone in my LS and their mother is leveling PLD.


Another question: Tamas or Omega ring when it comes to nuking on BLM?

Keep your snow ring for elemental enfeebles build on BLM, and Aqua for MND build on RDM (judging by your sig). I use tamas/sorc. for nukes on BLM, tamas/diamond (I'm a cheap bastard) for elemental enfeebles, and tamas/omega for sleeps/drain/aspir/stun/enfeebles on BLM.

For RDM I use tamas/omega for everything except my Slow2 build, then its tamas/aqua.

So yes, you CAN sell them, but if you have room (always an issue, at least until the update) its worth keeping all 3 as options.

In regards to dropping Tamas for Sattva, don't. -Emnity on the ring slot when you're already getting the +5 INT on BLM is killer...unlike +emnity on the Ring slot for a PLD. Not to mention that the way I see it blood tanking is basically dead, relegating VIT to a pretty number that really doesn't get to show its effect (and respective diminishing returns) often.

in before "rings are backwards" comment. I'm a lefty, so the tamas is always left ring slot, and suppa/moldy/relaxing are always in the left slot. Sue me.

Whats better... NQ Haub or Koga Chainmail for TP gain on ninja? Obviously haub for WS, but I just got K.Chainmail last night and it nets a total of +2 acc and 3 more atk (when you factor in str) over the haub, but I rarely ever see ninjas wear this.
