Simple question: Omega Ring v. Aslan Cape, which is better? I have Gleeman's so Aslan would mean I get 500k for selling my Prism. On the other hand, the Magic Acc + stats seems like a nice replacement for Balrhan's Ring. Thoughts?

What jobs? Personally I'd go Ring then Cape, the latter being a rather negligible upgrade.

Point remains that you gain nothing by meleeing in an enm+5 acc+10 body over acc+10 atk+10 unless you're arguing for the evasion. You're giving up -2.5% timers for absolutely nothing.

Ok, so lets say you have (w/ armor/weapon/merits) +18% critical hit rate...

would it be better to use:

Brave Grip: Increase Crit dmg (supposedly 10%)

Claymore(I think) Grp: +3% crit...so bringing ur total to +21% crit


I'm thinking the Brave Grip is better, but Lord knows ive been wrong before.

Assuming you're using a crit ws at that crit rate I'd think brave would be better not sure.

Do you really think PLDs gain a significant amount of hate from meleeing? Fast Cast actually does something useful.

Brave Grip is ~5% and Pole Grip wins, unless you're using Mighty Strikes.

Anyway I have a slight question myself. I want to know if Iron Ram legs are better than Coral Cuisses in a mdt/mdef build. I'm not entirely sure on the formulas for magic defense vs magic damage taken so I'm not sure if giving up -2% mdt would be compensated by +4 mdef.

-MDT caps at 50%. The object is to hit that cap first and then place MDB in every other slot available. With capped Shellra 5 merits that's something like -27% MDT so you only need an aditional -23% MDT in gear then can load up on MDB.

Does anyone have a very strong QD build I can see? I don't care if its on ffxigear, ffxiah, or copied from your windower macro. I would prefer to see the best possible set(s), I *think* I already have some of the rare stuff from being a BLM main, but we shall soon see!

I was simply curious as to how much of an advantage it gave, and if it were quantifiable somehow.

Dug out my old hauby, and been adjusthing things so I can use it to TP as needed, but default to the Nuevo, the -eva/agi does irritate me, for a different reason.


I assume that every shadow is getting taken, pld eva -15~20 = rofl, and then the mob goes on whiff streaks and fucks shit up.

Least the Nuevo doesn't put that psychological "I ain't dodging shit" in my head. Though just out doing VoS FoV... I was flying through sets of shadows as fast as I could while TPing in the Hauby, much more normal stripping for mobs that level in the Coselete. So I'll just keep the Hauby in a convenient macro to drip every bit of acc/melee gear into.

Equip Cassie+Intruder's before you QD, thats -90 MP right there. Cassie+Physical might be enough already (-75 MP). Also unequip any +MP gear before you QD.

The only bonus Haub is giving you on VoS mobs is 10 attack, anything hard enough to actually see any benefit from the accuracy will have capped acc against you.

I'm saying a Dexterity and Accuracy build will have better returns on a multiple hit, Critical hit modified weapon skill.

Getting the additional -2.5% recast would allow me to personally reach -50% timers without the second March. That is reason enough to me for FC+5 on PLD. The slightly faster cast times is just a bonus really.
