I'd still invite a WAR with a polearm over a DRK.
But that's mostly because I'm a lazy princess RDM who likes to watch a DRK spam Souleater and die to Pecking Flurry real gewd.

    Just sayin'.

I rarely use DRK in merits anyway (typically use WAR or DRG, depending on the camp).
Depends on how long the fight takes. Sword starts to win the more attack rounds you get.

With recent gear improvements, my DRK can certainly outparse most WARs, but on the other hand my WAR is also pretty beastly and I'm pretty sure there's no competition on Mamools. At least, not without spamming some serious Souleater.

I thought I saw something a few weeks back that was close to it, but can't find it now...but is there like a baseline formula I can use to determine what is better between x amount of haste and y amount of accuracy? Rather, to know what levels of Haste/Accuracy would be acceptable to move into a Haste build. I would generally assume 27%~ magic Haste on top.

Trying to decide when to use my COR Haste and Accuracy TP sets, basically it's 377 Acc/16% Haste vs. 399 Acc/6% Haste, and I'm not sure what the appropriate levels of Haste/Acc are to to use the first set, previously I was just using the Haste build and using Hunter's, but now I have the inventory space to carry the Acc build as well so if I'd like to know if it'd be useful when the situation calls for a roll other than Hunter's, or if I can get by with still using the Haste set.

I will assume your using a Joy-toy, and fighting birds.

In your acc set you have an effective delay of 210 (swing every 3.5sec)
In your haste set you have an effective delay of 188 (swing every 3.13sec)

In your acc set you have a hit rate of 95%
In your haste set you have a hit rate of 83%

In an hour wearing your acc set you will swing 1028 times
In an hour wearing your haste set you will swing 1150 times

In an hour wearing your acc set you will hit 976 times
In an hour wearing your haste set you will 954 times

Those hit rates are wrong, you need 407 acc to cap on the higher level birds so acc set would be 91% and haste set would be 80%.

Without having time to do any of the maths, with no haste/marches the sets would parse about equal. With any form of haste, your haste set is the clear winner.

    Improvement in x% accuracy = [x / old] * 100
    Improvement in x% haste = [x / (100 - old)] * 100

This is not representative of absolute overall % damage added which depends on TP/WS ratios, but comparatively works.

NOTE ACCURACY MUST BE IN %

No, but I did manage to predict the properties and behavior of a new subatomic particle by considering the topological implications of folding spacetime, though.

Compared to that, noting simple things such as "I don't land as many War Charge hits as I do main hits" is retard-easy.

Keep noting it, I'll keep pissing on your parade until you start backing up some of your theories.

I'm sure your next post will be full of parsed or documented data with which to base some exciting and game breaking new discovery. On the off chance that its not, save yourself the time it takes to type it and count how many Steel Cyclones you DA this evening (but please ignore how many WS you do in total).

Actually if I were going to document testing, I would note all of the following:

    *Gear/Merits/Dex/Buffs for total accuracy

*Target monsters, broken down by Evasion check message

    *Total number of WSes

*Total number of Warrior's Charge WSes

    *Doubled WSes without Warrior's Charge

    *Landed main hits

    *Landed Warrior's Charge hits

It doesn't matter though, I'm right, doubles during WSes are calculated the same as extra hits in a multi-hit WS, get over it.

    BEE TEE DUBLE YOO

    It isn't a theory, it isn't even a postulate, it's an observation.

That was your old sig. I read it. It's not a very good prediction.

    Spoilering the derail.
    Spoiler: show
How do you figure it isn't a good prediction?

I said it would be non-interactive, 1.25~ GeV in mass, it wouldn't be observed directly, but rather there would be a "shadow" or gap in the collision spray. I said it would be essentially a pair of muons "tangled" together.

They found a gap in the spray, muon decay products on the other side, estimated it to be roughly 1 GeV, and obviously non-interactive since it passed through the beam containment wall.

The Standard Model doesn't fit that, my dark matter candidate prediction fits spectacularly. Do you have a better explanation for their find? Better yet, do you have an explanation for it which you stated a few months before it was even observed?

For Scholar nuking: Goliard Cuffs (+4 MAB, +4 M.Acc) versus Yigit Gages (+5 INT, +2 MAB). Seems like the Gages are probably superior for Helices, but I'm not sure about nuking. I'm just a white mage who is not wise to the ways of elemental magic...

Also, in before "shit is situational."

It is actually representative. Doubling your hitrate doubles your swings and cuts the time to WS by half, therefore in a set time t, you do 2t damage with doubled hitrate. Twice the amount of hits, and twice the amount of weaponskills yields twice as much damage. Same with going from 0% to 50% haste. Things like meditate skew this a bit, but meh. Double attack (say, from 0 to 100, assuming fulltimed) is the one thing that not only doubles your attacks and reduces your time to WS by half, but also affects WS damage. Therefore you'll end up with more than twice your damage. The same, I guess, holds for ACC for WS, but realistically, you swap in tons of ACC for WS and therefore that effect, in reality, is not as big.

For FFXI, three-dimensional graphs are always the way to illustrate stuff. Time yo.

Yigit for Tier III or less
Goliard or Yigit for Tier IV depending on the rest of the gear set/race (but its close)

Sorry, but this shit is situational

I should add to this: in situations where Genie Gages aren't necessary.

He is asking about Scholar, not Black Mage.
